Kylie Jenner’s Heartbreak: Beloved Dog Norman Dies at 13

Kylie Jenner is mourning the death of her longtime canine companion, Norman, the Italian Greyhound she’s often called her ‘first baby.’

On Tuesday, the 28-year-old beauty mogul shared an emotional Instagram post announcing the loss, alongside a sweet throwback photo of her daughter gently holding the aging dog.

‘In loving memory of my sweet Norman,’ Kylie began. ‘I still remember the day I brought you home. I had never loved anything so much. I always wanted an Italian Greyhound growing up, but my mommy never let me have one. Then, right after I turned 17, I got you for Christmas, and it was the best gift I could have ever received.’

The Kylie Cosmetics founder described how her loyal pet, affectionately nicknamed Normy, brought her ‘pure joy’ for almost 13 years and became a beloved fixture in her family.

‘Normy, you filled my life and so many others with pure joy,’ she continued. ‘Almost 13 years old, and yet I know I’ll remember you far longer than the time we got to share. I wish I wasn’t writing this post… It makes me happy knowing my kids got to meet you and love you.’

She ended her heartbreaking tribute with: ‘My sweet Normyyyy. My heart aches for you, Norm. Rest in peace, my precious Normandle. I love you forever.’

Her slideshow included photos of her in bed cuddling Norman as well as him laying on her couch and soaking up the sun by her pool.

Norman was one of the first dogs Kylie adopted as a teenager and quickly became a social-media favorite.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum first introduced Norman to fans back in 2014, when she revealed she had brought home the tiny puppy as a teen.

Followers flooded the comment section with condolences, remembering how Norman had been part of Kylie’s rise to fame.

‘Why am I sobbing,’ Jenner’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian wrote underneath the post.

One fan commented: ‘oh Ky I’m so sorry. I hope you find comfort in all the beautiful memories you created together. Norman was lucky to have you, and I know you gave him a life filled with love, warmth and happiness. Sending you all my love.’

In August, she shared a heartfelt update about Norman on her Instagram Story, in addition to several throwback photos of him over the years.

‘My Norman is 12,’ she told her followers. ‘I was 17 when I got him.’

In 2012, Jenner first tweeted that she wanted an ‘Italian greyhound so bad’ and was ‘already picking out names.’

Over the years, Norman has been one of Kylie’s most cherished pets, often making appearances on her social media alongside her other greyhounds, Bambi and Harlie, Rosie, Sophia, Kevin, Jack and Jill.

Her pack also includes a few dachshunds.

Back in 2019, she shut down speculation something happened to Norman after adopting a chihuahua, dachshund mix, named Wesley.

In response to a question asking about Norman’s whereabouts, Jenner wrote back: ‘What makes u think anything happened to my Norman? I don’t post my dogs as much but that doesn’t mean they aren’t very much a part of my life still.’

As for how she takes care of so many animals, Jenner previously admitted she gets a lot of help.

In a conversation with Jennifer Lawrence for Interview Magazine back in 2023, she confessed getting a ‘dog nanny’ was probably her best hire.

When Lawrence asked why she had seven dogs, the reality star explained: ‘Because they kept multiplying. One of them had children, and I had to keep the family together.’

In 2016, Norman and Bambi welcomed two puppies. Jenner also has chickens and a bunny.
