The 1990s made a comeback on Tuesday as a string of icons gathered together to celebrate the opening of Planet Hollywood NYC.
British singer-songwriter Boy George took to the decks as he played a DJ set for the star-studded guests in New York.
Hosted by 50 Cent, Boy George and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, the night saw an array of stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Whoopi Goldberg and Liev Schreiber.
It was a Planet Hollywood return for some of the celebrities, including Whoopi and Arnold, who made regular appearances at various venue openings that decade after Planet Hollywoods launch in 1991 – and the new venue features a ‘1993 Icons’ menu of dishes to harp back to its original items.
Robert Earl’s Hollywood-themed restaurant reopened at 136 W. 42nd St. following a $17 million renovation after its Times Square location was closed during the COVID pandemic.

The musician paired the striking blazer with a button-up shirt and a fedora hat, as well as sporting bronze eye makeup and his signature goatee.
Meanwhile his event co-host 50 Cent opted for a pop of colour in a denim jacket with orange stripes and matching orange sneakers. He blinged out his look with a chunky chain and diamond bracelets.
Former Governor of California Arnold, 77, and Ghost star Whoopi, 69, cosied up at one of the tables inside as they mingled with other stars.
Whoopi showed off her unique style in frayed blue jeans, a black blazer, a green scarf and sneakers, while Arnold rocked a black puffer jacket.
He was joined by son Patrick Schwarzenegger, 31, who recently shocked fans with a full frontal scene in The White Lotus HBO TV show.
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin shook off scathing reviews of their ‘dreadful’ reality show to mingle at the opening, for which they served as co-hosts.
The 66-year-old actor and 41-year-old yogi shook off the negative reaction to their TLC series as they rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

It was a Planet Hollywood return for some of the celebrities, including Whoopi (Right in 1995) and Arnold (Left in 1994), who made regular appearances during the height of the establishment’s popularity in the 90s
The pair currently star in the new TLC reality show, The Baldwins, with their seven children which has been at the centre of plenty of controversy including being slammed by the family of Halyna Hutchins who was killed on the set of Alec’s film Rust.
The show has also been blasted by critics including MailOnline’s Christopher Stevens who gave it one star out of five.

The revamped Planet Hollywood now features wall-to-ceiling screens as it has become an ‘immersive’ experience.
The menu sees dishes such as Kobe Cheesesteak Empanadas and Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, and a ‘1993 Icons’ menu which features World-Famous Chicken Crunch and LA Lasagna.
‘You can suddenly be inside a beautiful forest or an old cowboy town and Lil Nas X is playing. And then it goes over to Jelly Roll and then Taylor Swift,’ CEO Robert told The Post.
‘In the past we focused on the theatregoers coming from across the water and visitors to the city, and we weren’t targeting Manhattanites.’
Planet Hollywood, now with four restaurants and five resorts, originated in the late ’80s when Hollywood producers approached Earl, then owner of Hard Rock Cafe.
Planet Hollywood’s flagship location debuted on West 57th Street in 1991.
Items from ‘Rocky III’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ were featured in the restaurant’s extensive movie memorabilia collection.
