Samantha Armytage’s Surprising Post-Breakup Confession

Samantha Armytage has made a surprising admission following her split from husband Richard Lavender.

The Golden Bachelor host, who announced her separation from the equestrian businessman at the end of last year, appeared on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show on Wednesday where she was asked if she thought she would find love again.

‘Of course I’ll find love again,’ the 49-year-old said, before bursting out into fits of laughter.

‘I mean, I’m keeping my options open,’ she cheekily added.

She continued to assure fans, saying: ‘I am fine. Don’t worry about me, I’m having fun as always.’

The Nine star went on to hint that, while she knows she’ll get back on the horse, she will be picky with the men she dates in the future.

‘I will find love again for sure. I don’t know when. When the time is right, he will arrive. And I’ll be very good at choosing this time.’

Samantha and the Golden Bachelor Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden have been at the centre of swirling romance rumours ever since they attended the Logies earlier this year.

Flash forward to Monday, the dating series’ premiere episode left many viewers convinced that there is a spark between the pair despite their protestations.

Fans flooded social media in droves after noticing ‘chemistry’ between Bear, 61, and Sam in the debut episode.

Some watching at home even joked that Sam would have liked to keep a rose for herself.

‘I’ve read enough reality dating romances to know that the best ones are where the star falls for the host/crew member… so I wouldn’t be mad about Bear and Sam…’ wrote one person on X.

‘I feel like Sam Armytage and Bear would make a good couple!’ said another.

‘When they realise Sam Armytage has cut all their grass with Bear,’ someone else joked, alongside a gif of a brawl.

‘Samantha Armytage and Bear have a lot of chemistry and he probably prefers her the most… I wonder if they got together or are together?’ one more commented.

‘Sam and Bear…let’s go!’ encouraged another, while another said, ‘There should be a male host. Sam has too much chemistry with Bear.’

‘Armytage was so close to keeping the First Impression Rose herself,’ someone else posted, with another agreeing, ‘Bear should give the rose to Sam’.

Sam and Bear first sparked whispers of an off-screen romance after making their red carpet debut at the Logies, where their close rapport was noticed by attendees.

The reality show’s leading man responded to the talk of the town ahead of the series’ big debut.

Bear attended the Golden Bachelor premiere in Sydney on Monday, where he couldn’t help but gush about his co-star in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail.

‘She was sensational. She was great,’ he said of Samantha’s time hosting the inaugural season.

‘I used her as a mentor the whole way through and she said, ‘follow your heart,’ which I did.’

However, when asked about all of the rumours regarding his relationship with the TV star, he was quick to put them to bed.

‘Yeah, well, that’s to be expected,’ he said of the speculation, adding: ‘Let’s just say they are rumours.’
