Jennifer Aniston, 56, says burnout makes her cranky but a bikini break helps

Jennifer Aniston has talked her expert self care methods as she juggled her series The Morning Show with her brands like Lolavie.

On Tuesday the siren talked to People about craving out her own ‘me time.’

‘This is another thing that I’ve gotten really good at in the last couple of years, is carving out time,’ Aniston told the site. ‘Just saying to the team, “The month of blanky blank is off.” We’re not going to do anything for whatever happens to be the month that would work that year,’ she shared.

Once she finds the right time, she tells her team, ‘”I’m going to take off. I’m going to have a vacation. There’s going to be no work.” And you just kind of have to put it on your calendar.’

Her vacations have included bikini breaks in Mexico with pals like Courteney Cox, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.

‘I think it’s so important because, if we’re running on fumes because we are working too hard and not giving ourselves the opportunity to refuel our bodies mentally and physically, we’re useless,’ she insisted.

‘We’re cranky, we’re fatigued, we’re under-slept. I think that the importance of that [rest] and recharge is imperative.’

This comes soon after she appeared in a video to go with her UK Harper’s Bazaar cover story.

The 56-year-old star wore a pale gray tank top and faded blue jeans with her blonde hair down for the discussion.

Her approach to self care is ‘one of the most important things we should focus on, it’s internal, mental self care, when we go out into the world we need to feel good, we cannot let ourselves down.’

And that included more than just pretty makeup.

‘Whether it’s not sleeping enough or eating right or getting enough water or social media, we need to take care of that,’ added the icon.

‘It’s really important to take care of yourself. Self care is not selfish,’ she remarked.

And she said she feels most beautiful when she does self care and also ‘when I am people with I love.’

It was part of a What’s Really In Her Beauty Bag clip. The looker pulled item after item out of her brown suede bag.

She even joked about how ‘big’ her bag was because it contained so many items like an oversized bottle of Smartwater and a Pvolve stretching band.

As far as her bag, she said it is stuffed.  One of the top products was a SPF sunscreen she said she uses religiously to keep wrinkles at bay.

It is IMAGE Skincare’s DAILY PREVENTION Advanced Smartblend Mineral Moisturizer SPF 75 which she said ‘is so creamy and smooth…and really light coverage.’

Next came a lip balm. ‘I don’t leave the house without lip balm,’ she also shared as she showed fans the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15. She takes the Elizabeth Arden lip balm with her everywhere, having been introduced to the brand’s Eight Hour Cream in the late ’90s.

She also used a plasma lip balm from U Beauty, her friend Jen Meyer turned her onto it. It has a restorative formula engineered to combat fine lines and wrinkles and enhance volume with Antioxidants & Peptides. It is a lip serum formulated with AHA, PHA and Salicylic Acid, The PLASMA Lip Compound gently exfoliates the surface of the skin while optimizing the skin’s natural collagen, and elastin properties.

Next came what she called ‘shameless plugs’ for her Lolavie products, like her new Dry Shampoo: ‘I am going to do a shameless plug,’ she said with a smile. She also used Lolavie paste and oil.

'I think it's so important because, if we're running on fumes because we are working too hard and not giving ourselves the opportunity to refuel our bodies mentally and physically, we're useless,' she insisted

The ex of Brad Pitt also said that overall she sticks to the same formulas: ‘Whatever works, if it’s not broken don’t fix it,’ she shared.

And then she told a story about a beauty move that ‘traumatized her’ for decades.

‘There was a wonderful moment in the ’90s when I moved to LA from NY and I had a model friend named Ellie, everyone looked up to her, and she told me my eyebrows were too thick and she plucked them and they were too thin and I am glad that’s over,’ the actress said, visibly upset and still shaken.

She brings up those thin eyebrows two more times in the interview as she says she is clearly not over the move.

The red carpet wonder also uses Charlotte Tilbury eye and lip liner she said.

An she is a big lover of a hot iron for her eyelashes: ‘I don’t like those iron contraptions because I usually pull out an eyelash.’ She demonstrated the mini hot iron and said it makes her lashes ‘fan out.’

Then she talked her top beauty treatments.

‘I love Lymphatic drainage massage, a facial, a laser to get off summer damage which I tend to have because I love the sun which I know I shouldn’t but I love it,’ she said as she looked up to the ceiling.

She had a to-go packet of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. The formula helps support healthy hair, skin, nails, bones and joints. It includes a 100% Daily Value Vitamin C: An antioxidant vitamin that can help promote collagen production and a youthful appearance. And it has 120mg Hyaluronic Acid which helps support skin hydration and elasticity.

It was part of a What’s In Your Purse? clip. The looker was in a pale gray tank top and acid-washed blue jeans when she pulled item after item out of her brown suede bag. She even joked about how ‘big’ her bag was because it contained so many items like an oversized bottle of Smartwater and a Pvolve stretching band.

And then Aniston said she loves to dress in a very basic way: ‘Jeans, flip flops, tank tops,’ are her go-tos.

‘I tried to skinny jeans for a while but it didn’t work so I am glad those went away,’ said the siren.

Then Aniston gushed over ’90s fashion.

‘I loved the ’90s and I still have items from Friends – shoes, dresses – there are certain items I am in love with. There are certain things about the ’90s – thin eyebrows, thin sunglasses – not so much, but there are things I love.’

And at one point, the ex of Justin Theroux pulled out a large bottle of Smartwater, a brand she represents: ‘I need to stay hydrated,’ she said.

Aniston found a pink foundation sponge which she dabbed on her face.

She then pulled a Pvolve band out of her bag: ‘I have a big bag!’ Anison put gloves on with a band and stretched her arms. ‘This is good for giving your arms and extra stretch.’
