Mick Jagger’s son Deveraux, 8, is rushed to hospital after an accident while playing football as the rocker’s girlfriend Melanie Hamrick admits ‘when they hurt, you hurt’

Mick Jagger’s son has been rushed to hospital following a nasty accident with the rocker’s girlfriend Melanie Hamrick admitting she’s ‘hurting’ seeing her son in pain.

The Rolling Stones rocker, 81, shares Deveraux Octavian Basil, eight, with former ballet dancer Melanie, 37, and have been dating since 2014. 

But now Melanie has shared that their youngest child, who is nicknamed Devi, has been involved in an accident while playing football. 

She shared a snap of the youngster’s leg contained in a blue plaster cast as he walked on a pair of crutches. 

Alongside the hospital picture, Melanie penned: ‘Nothing feel more true- When they hurt you hurt (crying emoji) He’ll be back playing football again in no time though!!’

Despite Melanie and Mick having dated for more than a decade, she rarely posts about her partner and keeps her posts about her son and dancing.

Mick has eight children and is father to Karis, 54 (by Marsha Hunt); Jade, 53 (by Bianca Jagger); Lizzie, 40, James, 39, Georgia May, 33, and Gabriel, 27 (by Jerry Hall); Lucas, 25 (by Luciana Gimenez Morad) and Deveraux. 

Mick and Melanie first met in February 2014 while they were both on tour at a Rolling Stone’s concert.

They didn’t become closer until the singer invited Melanie later on to join him for the rock band’s stop in Zurich.

Although they have never married, they have been happily dating for now ten years and in December 2016 they welcomed Deveraux.

Their child’s accident comes after Melanie revealed what Mick really thinks about her very racy romance novels.

The author has written her second ballet-based romance novel and admitted that she finds sex scenes the ‘easiest’ part of her stories to write. 

Melanie released her first book First Position last year – described as a ‘ballet bonkbuster’ – while her second is named The Unraveling.

Speaking to The Times and listing the vocabulary she uses for sexy scenes she said: ‘Thrusting, throbbing, pulsating. Just go to the thesaurus. That’s what Mick said – he’s, like, ‘Throbbing was used a lot in book two.”

The ex dancer and choreographer added that it was Mick himself who encouraged her to start writing books in the first place. 

Melanie explained: ‘I was, like, ‘I want to write a book. I want to write a book.’ And then, finally, he said, ‘Oh my God, write the book!’ ‘ 

She is a former ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre, from which she retired in 2019 after fifteen years.

She added of writing sex scenes: ‘It’s like choreographing a dance. It’s a movement and I’m writing movements down.’
