Kylie Jenner: Becoming a ‘Pop Star’ Is My Lifelong Dream, but I Was ‘Too Insecure’ to Pursue It Sooner

Kylie Jenner says she’s finally living her lifelong dream of becoming a pop star — just days after her music debut was savaged online.

The 28-year-old reality star released her first song on Monday night, appearing as a featured artist on Terror Jr’s (Lisa Vitale and David Singer-Vine) track Fourth Strike.

She even brought back her ‘King Kylie’ persona from 2014, launching new Spotify and Apple Music accounts under the throwback name.

But while fans ruthlessly panned the song as ‘awful,’ Kylie isn’t letting the criticism stop her.

In a new interview released a few days later, she revealed she’s been dreaming of making music her whole life.

‘You know this is my dream,’ she said in the candid Q&A. ‘I’ve been talking about this since I came out of the womb… that like I wanted to be a pop star.’

She continued, ‘I just never had the confidence or… I think turning 28 just does something to you.’

‘Like I’m going to be 30 soon and I don’t want to look back on life and have any regrets.’

‘And this is something I’ve always wanted to try.’

Her first attempt comes during the bridge of the Fourth Strike song, where she softly coos, ‘King Kylie,’ before slipping into a few breathy lines.

‘One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right,’ she sings, followed by, ‘I just wanna tell you, “I’m sorry” / Touch me, baby, tell me I’m your baby / Write your name all over my body / Cross the line, I might do it again (Oh) / Do it on purpose just to see how it ends.’

Fourth Strike is a sequel to Terror Jr’s 2016 debut song 3 Strikes, which was featured in Kylie’s Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss campaign.

‘There was a little rumor 10 years ago that I was the one actually singing on 3 Strikes!’ Jenner – who boasts 567.5M social media followers – explained on Monday.

‘It wasn’t me (wish it was) so I had the idea to come together for Fourth Strike and it would actually be me featured! @terror.jr thank you for making another perfect song and for trusting me to actually [feature] on this! I was so nervous but so grateful.’

The girlfriend of Timothée Chalamet also gave shout-outs to songwriter JBACH, Capitol Records A&R VP Carter Gregory, music engineer/producer Bart Schoudel, and her make-up artist Ariel Tejada ‘for supporting me and loving me.’

Kylie included a cute clip of her seven-year-old daughter Stormi Webster and three-year-old son Aire Webster listening and singing along to Fourth Strike while in the back of her SUV.

In 2022, Jenner ended her on/off five-year relationship with her babydaddy Travis Scott, who’s known for his use of AutoTune.

Earlier in the day Jenner put on a sizzling display and issued a foul-mouthed message while dressed up in a teal, ombré wig.

‘kylie jenner i’m coming for you b***h,’ she wrote in her caption.

In her post, she included two sultry snaps of herself nearly spilling out of a leather bustier that seemingly wouldn’t zip all the way to the top.

This comes shortly after The Kardashians star shared sexy photoshoot snapshots, in which she wore nothing but glitter on her body and a crown to promote her new collection.

On Monday, Kylie flaunted four diamond-encrusted bangles on her wrist and her ‘iconic’ teal hair extensions and dark, sultry makeup.

Right before she announced her music debut, she released a follow-up Glosses Part II music video on social media.

The video followed up the original Glosses commercial she made for her makeup brand Kylie Cosmetics over a decade ago during her ‘King Kylie’ era.

The original commercial featured a song called 3 Strikes by the pop duo Terror Jr.

This comes as she continues commemorating her trendsetting era she started as a teenager 10 years ago.

The Miu Miu muse will have an acting role in Aidan Zamiri’s upcoming A24 movie The Moment starring AutoTune pop star Charli xcx.

Kylie executive produces and stars in the 10-episode seventh season of her famous family’s reality show The Kardashians, which premieres October 23 on Hulu.
