Kyle Sandilands Dishes on ‘Pathetic’ Pay for Hollywood Debut with Chuck Norris and His Private Boat Spend

Kyle Sandilands may be worth hundreds of millions as a radio host, but that pay packet has not translated to being offered big bucks for his debut Hollywood role.

The shock jock, 54, revealed on his Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday that he spent triple the amount he was paid on travel expenses to appear on the Gold Coast set of his first film, the action comedy film Zombie Plane.

‘I know that I didn’t want to get paid because it was a pathetic amount. And then they said, ‘by law, we have to pay you’,’ Kyle explained to his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

When asked how much that ‘pathetic amount’ was, Kyle replied, ‘I don’t know, like five grand or something like that.’

The radio sensation, who has reportedly signed a $200 million contract for his top-rated breakfast show, explained he dropped much more on travelling to the set and hiring his own private boat.

Kyle explained that he was happy to do so, because he was able to spend time with his co-star, American rapped and actor, Ice-T.

‘I think it cost me about 15 grand because I travel my own way, stay in my own accommodation,’ he said.

‘And I had to get a separate boat to sit on. How much does that cost me? But I didn’t care. I did it because I wanted to work opposite Ice-T.’

Kyle recently revealed his big screen career got off to a shaky start, with the radio star admitting he wasn’t the biggest fan of his on-screen attire.

‘I said, “Okay what am I wearing?”‘

‘[They said] we’ve been on the boat with the real guy and the captain wears the same clothes as the other guys.’

This did not sit well with Kyle who said he felt like a particular reality TV show character.

‘All of a sudden I’m Captain Sandy from Below Deck looking like every other b***ard,’ he said.

‘I was distressed. I’m not coming up here to play an employee.’

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross tried to soothe Kyle’s ego, saying the costume may be for comedic effect.

‘So I’ve been brought in to be laughed at?’ Kyle replied.

‘Maybe I should just come home. I feel this whole thing is a disaster.’

The KIIS FM star earlier revealed on The Kyle & Jackie O show that he is making his movie debut alongside Chuck Norris for the actor’s final-ever film.

Others starring in the comedy are 1990s American rapper Vanilla Ice and Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk.

The cast was spotted filming scenes in the scenic suburb of Noosa, Queensland, in 2023, with the flick due for release this year.
