The presenter, 51, took to social media as he wished his 21-year-old daughter a Happy Birthday – as she looked just like Tess’ double.

Vernon gushed: ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY @phoebekay 21 Today!! The celebrations are gonna be epic!! You’re the best any parent could ask for.’

It’s set to be a weekend of celebrations for the famous clan as Daily Mail can reveal Vernon will be honoured with a radio award on Sunday night.

The dad-of-two, who hosts his popular weekday mid-morning show on BBC Radio 2, will receive this year’s Variety Club Silver Heart Award 2025 for Outstanding Contribution to Radio.

Last year Good Morning Britain and Smooth Radio host Kate Garraway took home the gong.

With Tess’ busy schedule now Strictly Come Dancing is back on air, it’s unclear if she’ll be in attendance to watch her husband accept the honour, though she has been invited.

Vernon has presented live radio for the BBC for two decades now and in 2023 he took over Ken Bruce’s slot.

He previously hosted his own show for Radio 1 from 2004 until 2012.

Vernon moved to commercial station Radio X in 2015 where he anchored his show for two years. He then returned to the BBC in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Mail can reveal US actress Vanessa Williams will also be honoured at this year’s Variety Awards.

The 62-year-old Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty star will receive the Silver Heart Award 2025 for Outstanding Global Contribution to the Arts and Humanity.

Vanessa has been based in London for the past year, playing the role of Miranda Priestly in the West End musical adaption of The Devil Wears Prada.

The Variety Club Showbusiness Awards raises funds for disabled and disadvantaged children whilst celebrating some of the biggest names in entertainment.

This year the ceremony, which takes place at the Londoner Hotel and will be hosted by Mark Wright and Katie Piper, will also mark ITV’s 70th anniversary.

Vernon married Tess, 56, in 2003 in a lavish ceremony with their family and friends. Their second daughter Amber, now 16, was born in 2009.

He recently revealed he was ‘skint’ when he first met Tess.

He said his money woes were so bad that Tess actually forked out for their first six dates.

Appearing on Loose Men, he said: ‘I was 25-ish. We met at a BBC Christmas party and we hit it off straight away.’

He continued: ‘I had an issue financially at the start of our relationship.

‘Remember Switch cards? Yeah, well, the one below that was a Solo card, and I had a Solo card that kept getting rejected.

‘I was absolutely skint. She said – I think we were in our sixth or seventh date – and she decided that, right…

‘If this one, If I’m paying for the sixth or seventh again, then I think it’s time to kind of have a word. Thankfully, I had a bit of cash and I managed to pay for dinner.’
