Britney’s Ex Jason Alexander Accuses Kevin Federline of Profiting from Her Pain

Britney Spears’ first ex-husband Jason Alexander slammed her other ex Kevin Federline over his upcoming tell-all memoir.

Alexander, who was married to Spears, 43, for merely 55 hours back in 2004, fired off on her second husband, 47, in a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday.

He accused Federline of becoming ‘a millionaire off of her pain’ adding, ‘the drugs, the alcohol, the chaos… you were there for all of it. You weren’t trying to pull her out — you were feeding off it.’

Federline’s new book, You Thought You Knew, makes a disturbing claims about his ex-wife’s conduct involving a knife around their sons Jayden, 19, and Sean, 20.

Hours after an excerpt from the memoir was published by the New York Times, Alexander took to his social media sharing side-by-side images of Federline comparing his slimmer appearance to a later photo where he had gained weight.

The caption on the left image read, ‘Kevin Federline before Britney Spears child support checks’ while the other one read, ‘Kevin Federline after Britney Spears child support checks.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Federline’s reps for comment.

‘Kevin, You Don’t Get to Rewrite the Story Without Owning Your Role,’ Alexander titled the top of his caption.

He went on: ‘So Kevin Federline has decided to write a book — and surprise, surprise, it leans heavy on painting Britney in a bad light.’

‘As someone who’s known Britney most of her life — not just as her first husband, but as a friend who’s seen what she’s gone through — I can’t stay silent.’

Spears’ ex then blasted Federline, writing, ‘Kevin, you don’t get to tell half the story. Not when you were in the middle of it.’

‘It’s easy to point fingers now, to talk about Britney’s struggles like you were just some innocent bystander watching it all happen. But that’s not what went down.’

‘You were her husband. You were supposed to be her protector. Instead, you were partying right alongside her — the drugs, the alcohol, the chaos… you were there for all of it. You weren’t trying to pull her out — you were feeding off it.’

He went on to say that Federline ‘didn’t walk away empty-handed either.’

‘You walked away with full custody, child support, and a lifestyle funded by the same woman you now want to distance yourself from.’

‘Let’s be honest — you became a millionaire off of her pain. And now, you want to act like the mature one, like the man who held it all together? No. That’s not growth, that’s revision,’ Alexander wrote.

‘If you’re going to write a book, at least have the guts to tell the truth about your part in it. The nights you partied. The times you turned your back. The ways you used the media and the court system to your advantage.’

‘You played the game, Kevin. You just want to forget that now because it doesn’t fit the image you’re trying to sell,’ he added.

Taking up for his ex-wife, Alexander wrote, ‘Britney has been through enough — and it’s always men trying to profit from her story while ignoring the damage they helped cause.’

‘You want to tell your side? Fine. But don’t pretend you were the victim or the hero. Be real. Be accountable. Because those of us who were really there — who actually cared about her, not the fame — we remember how it really went down. And we’re not buying the rewrite.’

Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears, famously married her in Las Vegas, before the marriage was quickly annulled.

Meanwhile Federline was married to Spears from 2004 until 2007.

In a portion from the upcoming memoir, Federline claims that his sons Jayden and Sean awoke more than once to see Spears, 43, hovering in the bedroom doorway and staring at them while clutching a knife.

He and his brother Sean have reportedly had a strained relationship with his mother in recent years, and their father Kevin has alleged their sons that they no longer wanted to visit their mother at home in their teen years, citing violent fears as one of their reasons.

‘They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — “Oh, you’re awake?” — with a knife in her hand,’ Federline wrote in the excerpt from his memoir. ‘Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.’

Also on Tuesday, Federline appeared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in which he claimed that Spears had a tearful phone call with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake on the night before their wedding.

Federline said he was stunned to hear the hitmaker’s name, and he initially thought he might have misheard Spears.

‘[I was like], “We don’t have to do this,”‘ he recalled saying, referring to the couple’s impending nuptials.

He added, ‘I didn’t care if we got married or not.’

In a statement provided to Us Weekly, Spears’ representative said, ‘Once again [Federline] and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.

‘All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism,’ they added.

In his memoir, Federline also wrote about his growing concerns about his ex after she began behaving erratically.

He laid bare his fears Spears was hurtling towards an ‘irreversible’ direction: ‘The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,’ Federline said in the book.

‘It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK,’ Federline adds. ‘From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.’

Federline’s memoir also reflects on the night in 2008 when Spears was committed to the psych ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, after she refused to relinquish custody of her sons to Federline.

Federline called it ‘one of the hardest nights of my life’ as he watched his partner in the midst of the ordeal.

‘I felt sick over what she was going through. This was someone I had loved. Someone I had built a life with. The mother of my children,’ he wrote.

The event came just before Spears was placed on her conservatorship, which was terminated after 13 years amid support from the Free Britney movement.

But Federline feels the movement had unintended consequences on the pop star’s current wellbeing.

While he says the support for ending the arrangement probably ‘started from a good place’, he notes it may have scared off professionals from helping his ex after seeing the backlash her inner circle received from Free Britney followers.

‘All those people who put so much effort into that,’ he wrote, ‘should now put the same energy into the “Save Britney” movement. Because this is no longer about freedom. It’s about survival.’

Federline admitted to The Times he has not spoken with Spears about what he has written.

‘I’ve never, ever, once, been against Britney,’ he told the publication. ‘I’ve only tried to help my sons have an incredible relationship with their mother. And it’s hard because when I really reflect on everything that’s happened — my kids do not know the woman that I married. And I’ve spent two decades trying to bridge that gap.’
