Kevin Federline: Britney Spears Caught Making Out with Female Dancer

Kevin Federline pulled back the curtain on one of the most shocking moments from his early relationship with Britney Spears in his upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew.

While looking back at their turbulent relationship, the former dancer, 47, recalled joining Spears, 43, for a night out in Amsterdam in 2004 while she was on her Onyx Hotel Tour.

The crew included dancer Teresa Espinosa, who Federline credits with introducing the pair the previous month at the Hollywood hotspot Joseph’s.

‘It was one of those loose, carefree evenings where everyone was dancing, drinking and just having a good time,’ Federline wrote in an excerpt published by USA Today on Wednesday. ‘We stayed out late, hitting one of the city’s nightclubs until at least 1 or 2 in the morning.’

After the group returned to their hotel, Federline alleged Spears told him she’d be right back — but as time passed, he started to grow suspicious.

‘I was thinking maybe she was catching up with someone or handling something tour-related,’ he remembered.

When he decided to look for her, Federline claimed he stumbled upon a shocking scene.

‘As I passed one of the rooms, I glanced inside — and froze. There she was,’ he claims. ‘Theresa [sic] was sitting on the edge of the bed. Britney stood between her legs, hands on her face and they were f***ing going at it. Full-on making out.’

Federline said he stayed silent as the two women looked up and saw him. Without saying a word, he walked back to his room and began packing his bags.

‘I just wanted out,’ he admitted.

According to the memoir, Spears soon returned and appeared unaware of what he had witnessed.

‘She started apologizing, explaining, promising it would never happen again,’ he wrote. ‘She told me she didn’t realize how serious I was about us, that she was overwhelmed and it had been a mistake.’

Federline said he made it clear he ‘wasn’t interested in a relationship that involved more than two people,’ but ultimately decided to stay with Spears.

‘Those weeks in Europe, navigating that emotional minefield together, laid the foundation of our relationship,’ he reflected. ‘They tested us, changed us and ultimately brought us closer together. It was during this time that I began to realize the depth of my feelings. And while the road ahead was anything but certain, I knew one thing for sure: I was falling in love with Britney.’

Federline and Spears, who share sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, went on to tie the knot on September 18, 2004, just five months after they met.

The former couple ultimately split in 2006.

Federline makes a number of shocking claims about Spears in his memoir, including that his and Britney’s two sons woke up at night on more than one occasion to find the Toxic singer standing at their bedroom door while holding a knife.

He also accused her of calling her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake the night before their wedding.

Federline, 47, alleged that Spears was sobbing as she spoke to the NSYNC singer.

Spears and Timberlake had broken up two years earlier, in 2002.

According to Federline, Spears’ oddly timed call to Timberlake happened while the couple were staying at the ‘Fairmont in Santa Monica in one of the bungalows.’

‘I’m like, “What’s wrong?” I thought she was talking to her mom on the phone or something and maybe she was, like, having doubts,’ he recalled. ‘And she told me that she was on the phone with Justin.’

Federline said he was stunned to hear the hitmaker’s name, and he initially thought he might have misheard Spears.

‘[I was like], “We don’t have to do this,”‘ he recalled saying, referring to the couple’s impending nuptials.

He added, ‘I didn’t care if we got married or not.’

Federline said that Spears tried to calm him down by telling him that she was just trying to say her ‘final piece’ to Timberlake to put any unfinished business to bed.

Spears’ ex-husband recalled thinking, ‘Damn, on the night before our wedding, this is what you decide to do?’

However, he decided to take what Spears said ‘with a grain of salt’ and chose to believe that she was ‘closing a chapter of her life.’

ET’s Kevin Frazier said that most people have found the conversation to be a ‘hell of a red flag,’ and Federline agreed in hindsight.

‘Man, you’re telling me,’ he replied, before defending himself for being ‘super young’ at the time.

‘I was so madly in love at that moment,’ Federline added.

However, he claimed that after he and Spears were married, it was still apparent to him that she had unfinished business with the Cry Me A River singer.

Federline said he thought it was understandable that she could still be hung up on Timberlake at the time since he had been her first love.

‘I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be her. I couldn’t imagine or feel what it was like to be Justin in those moments because they were super young, right? You’re talking teenagers that had to go through this globally,’ he said. ‘And I know that they really cared about each other back then.’

‘All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism,’ they added.

Two months after Jayden’s birth, Spears filed to divorce Federline amid concerns about her erratic behavior, including an incident in February of that year, in which Spears was photographed driving dangerously while holding Sean on her lap with one hand and steering with her other hand, instead of properly securing him in a car seat.

The divorce was finalized in 2007, and Spears lost physical custody of her sons to Federline in October of that year.

Federline won sole custody of the children in the wake of Spears’ 2008 institutionalization, and he remained their primary caregiver throughout her years-long conservatorship, which was instituted by her father Jamie Spears, 73.
