David Spade has offered $5,000 to anyone who catches and gets police to arrest arsonists in Los Angeles.
The comedian, 60, made the announcement on his Instagram Stories page amid reports of people starting fires as California continues to be ravaged by deadly wildfires.
He said in a video filmed inside his car: ‘I’m out in California and people are saying there’s guys lighting fires out there, make this s*** worse.
‘So, if you can find someone lighting a fire, and you catch somebody, and you get the cops to bust them and throw them in jail, I’ll give you $5,000.
‘So, keep your eyes peeled and do what you can out there.’
David spoke out after a homeless man was detained by LAPD for allegedly using a blowtorch to light up discarded Christmas trees and trash in Woodland Hills.

He was spotted at the same time the devastating Kenneth Fire had started – but police could not officially charge him with arson because they couldn’t prove he had a direct connection to the blazes.
Among the stars who have given disaster relief cash to the needy in the wake of the fires are Jamie Lee Curtis.
The actress, 66, and her husband Christopher Guest, 62, have donated $1 million to those affected by the LA blazes.
She said on Instagram about the donation: ‘As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbours and friends are banding together to save each other, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there.’
Jamie had made a trip to New York City for a live television interview with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (08.01.25) when she heard the wildfires atrocity had started to erupt.

Speaking on Jimmy’s ‘Tonight Show’ after she arrived, the actress said: ‘I’m literally just about to cry. As you know where I live is on fire right now. ‘Literally the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning. I flew here last night. I was on the plane, started getting texts and it’s gnarly, you guys.
‘It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California.
‘Obviously, there have been horrific fires in many places… this is literally where I live.’
This comes after Julia Roberts delivered a spicy comment to criminals who are preying on the vulnerable during the LA fires.
On Monday the Pretty Woman star took to Instagram with a rare remark.
‘F.U. looters,’ wrote the mother of three who is married to movie cinematographer Danny Moder.
Indeed, looters are still targeting empty mansions in the $10M range that have been left unsupervised as families evacuate. In many areas the fire alarms are off because the power is out. And police are not accessing the areas easily due to fire hazards.
This comes as California governor Gavin Newsom accused the tech billionaire Elon Musk of ‘encouraging looting.’
Elon has been sharing disinformation; Musk, who is President-elect Donald Trump’s supporter.

Musk said that Gavin was decriminalizing looting but that is not true.
‘Stop encouraging looting by lying and telling people it’s decriminalized. It’s not,’ Newsom wrote. ‘It’s illegal – as it always has been.’
About 30 people have been arrested for suspected looting.
Most of Julia’s post was about the devastation over the Palisades fires. ‘There is so much healing and help needed. We will get through this,’ wrote the Oscar-winning star.
She then plugged a talent agency that is reaching out with money.
‘@caafoundation alongside @coreresponse @eifoundation @lausd are launching SoCal Fire Fund to assist in providing Immediate and Long Term support for all those impacted by these current fires.’
Julia is known to have owned a home in Malibu.
She then moved to San Francisco but sold her home. She has since been seen in the Bay Area, but it is not clear where she resides.
This comes after news the Oscars nominations have been delayed for a second time as wildfires raged across Los Angeles, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The Academy previously offered a two-day extension to the voting window ‘to give members more time to cast their ballots’, pushing back the nominations announcement until January 19 as thousands were evacuated from their homes.
On Monday, chief executive Bill Kramer and Academy president Janet Yang confirmed nominations for the 97th Oscars will be rescheduled until January 23 in a virtual event ‘without in-person media coverage’.
‘We are all devastated by the impact of the fires and the profound losses experienced by so many in our community,’ a joint statement said.
‘The Academy has always been a unifying force within the film industry, and we are committed to standing together in the face of hardship.

‘Due to the still-active fires in the Los Angeles area, we feel it is necessary to extend our voting period and move the date of our nominations announcement to allow additional time for our members.’
Mr Kramer and Ms Yang also confirmed they have made ‘imperative’ changes to scheduled events, including cancelling the annual nominees luncheon, to be ‘sensitive to the infrastructure and lodging needs of the region in these next few weeks’.
The Oscars ceremony remains scheduled for Sunday, March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
