Showpo founder Jane Lu was left red-faced this week after her mother brutally rejected her fashion choices as she prepared for a date.
The Shark Tank Australia star, 38, shared a hilarious clip to social media in which she told fans she was trying on outfits ahead of a night out with her husband James Waldie.
The entrepreneur was initially seen wearing a transparent leopard print dress as she excitedly told fans she was getting ready to hit the town.
However, her mother Queenie then entered and quickly rejected the outfit with a blunt ‘yuck, not your style’ and told Jane she would help her find a more suitable outfit.
Jane’s mother then suggested a designer white gown with a thigh-high split for her daughter and adorned it with a large green flower brooch.
The multi-millionaire then cheekily told the camera: ‘For the record, I’m obviously not wearing the brooch. I’m just doing it now to shut her up!’

Queenie then put on gaudy white sunglasses on her daughter’s face, tied her hair in a bun and then enthusiastically said ‘yeah’ to the cameras, indicating Jane’s makeover was complete.
A horrified Jane gave a shocked look to the camera as she took in the results of her mother’s makeover.
‘@thelazygrandma thinks she’s a stylist now,’ Jane wrote next to the footage.
Many of the reality TV star’s celebrity friends quickly took to the comment section to share their amusement over the side-splitting footage.
‘Dying!’ joked Married At First Sight star Melinda Willis.
‘Love the leopard print,’ added The Block’s Sharon Johal.
Jane and her husband James married in 2019, with a ceremony and reception at the Sergeants Mess in Sydney’s well-heeled Mosman, on the lower north shore.
The pair spent their honeymoon at Qualia Resort in Hamilton Island.

They share two children – son Lachie, four, and two-year-old daughter Rosie.
Jane is a huge success story in the entrepreneurial space in Australia, being the CEO of Showpo.
In 2010, a friend suggested they start a business selling clothes from a pop-up stall.
She quit her job, maxed out her credit card buying stock and shoved it into the garage of her parents’ Balmain home.
The clothing website is believed to have turned over $85 million in 2019, alone.
Jane spent six months pretending to work at her accounting firm while she spruiked the latest trends from stalls in Bondi bars and the Arthouse Hotel in the CBD.
‘I still don’t know if they were just turning a blind eye or if they really didn’t know,’ she told Daily Mail Australia in 2021.
‘I had a lot of guilt after everything they’d done for me. I’d given up a good corporate job to sell stuff online, which was just totally alien to them.’
In November 2010, the duo opened a permanent store in Broadway under the brand name ‘Showpony’, which eventually morphed into ‘Showpo’ after dropping the ‘ny’ to avoid trademark disputes in the US.
The Broadway outlet was followed by a kiosk in the middle of the CBD Westfield shopping centre, which proved to be a ‘big money maker’.
These days, Showpo has a fan base of more than 1.8 million followers on Instagram, 1.3 million on Facebook and 95,700 on TikTok.
