Nicole Kidman is preparing for her first winter alone as a single woman, and she’s going to do it in style.
After her split from Keith Urban, the actress has been eyeing properties in the exclusive Costaterra Gold and Ocean Club, a luxury development dubbed the ‘Hamptons of Portugal’ and located an hour south of Lisbon.
Nicole lodged her application with the country’s immigration agency in July with questions raised at the time over the absence of Ketih’s name on the documents.
If Nicole, along with her daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, do decamp to Portugal, they will be in good company.
A-listers including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, George Clooney, Paris Hilton and Princess Eugenie all own homes in the Comporta resort Nicole has been viewing.
Last year Harry and Meghan reportedly splashed out $4.7 million on a luxury beachside pad in the compex, which was developed by Mike Meldman, the co-founder of Clooney’s tequila company Casamigos.

Meldman, the CEO of the Discovery Land Company, acquired the 722-acre plot which runs along the Atlantic coast in 2019, with an initial £435million investment.
He had already overseen the building of 24 luxury residential golf communities around the world before the Portugal purchase.
In 2021 it was reported that Clooney planned to build a mega mansion for his family in his pal’s resort.
CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club is described as a members-only resort of custom homes with a ‘lifestyle-focused coastal residential community’.
The area, with its secluded beaches and surfing waves, has been compared to St Tropez in the 1960s and Ibiza before it became party central.
Spread across 722 acres, residents are able to make the most of amenities like a golf course, a beach club, an equestrian centre, fitness and spa facilities and an organic farm.
Nicole flew to Portugal in July to attend the mandatory in-person appointment at the immigration agency, with Keith’s absence explained at the time by his tour commitments in the US.
According to Portuguese media outlet SIC Notícias, the Oscar-winning actress submitted her paperwork to the country’s Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA).

The surprise move came as Nicole was spotted arriving at the Tires airfield in Cascais – the wealthy seaside enclave just outside of Lisbon.
Over the past ten years, Nicole has purchased two penthouses in the exclusive North Sydney Latitude building and then combined them to make a mega-apartment.
Together Nicole and Keith built an impressive international real estate portfolio since marrying in 2006.
Their first joint purchase came in 2007 – a 36-acre estate in Franklin, Tennessee, for over $3 million.
The following year, they upgraded to a lavish mansion in Nashville’s exclusive Northumberland community.
Beyond Tennessee, the couple own properties in Manhattan, Sydney, and New South Wales as well as a $6.77 million Beverly Hills pad.
Now, as the showbiz power couple split after 19 years of marriage, the fate of their real estate portfolio, worth a reputed $282 million, hangs in the balance.

Nicole filed to end her marriage last month – citing irreconcilable differences – as a source told the Daily Mail that Urban may already be involved with an unnamed female musician.
During a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar that was published last Thursday, the Australian actress talked about experiencing a lot and ‘surviving’ it, hinting at the end of her marriage.
‘As I get older, I want to be able to share and impart the things I’ve learned. I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve survived a lot,’ she said.
Nicole then added: ‘I want to pass on some of that knowledge and that wisdom and whatever I’ve learned,’ before touching on moving past ‘pain’ and ‘devastation’.
When asked what the best part is about getting older she replied, ‘The experiences that you’ve accumulated.

‘So you go, “Oh, I’ve been here before. I actually know how to handle this now.” Or, “Maybe I haven’t been in this place, but I’ve experienced something similar to this, and I do know that I will get through it.”’
It sounded as if she was hinting that because she has been through a heartbreaking divorce before, with Tom Cruise, she can handle the pain that comes with leaving Urban.
‘There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through. You’re going to have to feel it.
