MAFS Star Ella Morgan Breaks Down Over Transphobic Trolling

Married At First Sight star Ella Morgan broke down in tears as she opened up about transphobic trolling in a candid new social media post.

The reality star, 31, who first shot to fame two years ago on the popular Channel 4 series, is an award-winning trans advocate and often shares her personal experiences with her followers.

On Monday, Ella shared a picture of herself crying on Instagram and explained she is ‘not in a good place’ and has been struggling with transphobic trolling.

She penned: ‘Sometimes a smile hides a lot. I can be the loudest, most outgoing person in the room, but inside it’s a very different story. Maybe I’ll regret posting this story because I care what others think.

‘But I never talk or post about my feelings or when I’m not in a good place. But I felt like I needed to post this. Maybe it’ll help me or make me feel better or maybe it’ll help somebody else who’s struggling right now.

‘The reality is, everyone is going through something. I have my struggles and a lot of you have noticed me getting quieter on socials and I have reasons why.

‘And social media a lot of the time gives off the impression that life is amazing but the truth is, it isn’t always.

‘Constant trolling and negative articles about trans lives takes it toll, along with work life balance and feeling run down and ill, hormonal, personal things, and the pressure of being a role model and advocate can sometimes feel like a huge weight, and still affect me but I have to put on a brave face and carry on fighting for my community.

‘Sometimes I feel like a failure and being sent horrible DMs doesn’t help when I’m having a bad day already. I took this picture this morning, so that I can look back when I’m in a better place and remind myself of how far I’ve come. Not for attention.

‘Sometimes the feelings of failure and loneliness and negativity get the better of you and override the positive feelings. But I know tomorrow is a new day and hopefully it’ll be an easier one. Thank you for your continued support. Please be kind to one another.’

It comes after Ella revealed a well-known celebrity called her a transphobic slur in a vile swipe behind her back.

Ella, originally from Bristol, said that the star, who is ‘a lot more well-known’ than her, said the offensive slur to a friend of hers.

She explained: ‘There’s definitely two people in the public eye that I’m not a fan of because they are really fake.

‘One of them really wasn’t very nice about me, she doesn’t know that I know actually so this will be the first time she’s heard back.

‘She referred to me as a t****y to one of my friends who then told me.’

She continued to the Fed Up social show: ‘And apparently she’s quite jealous of me, that baffles me because she’s a lot more well known and got way more followers than me.

‘She’s quite fake and there’s another person in the industry that I find just really fake and I don’t warm to them, whereas what you see with me is what you get.’

‘I’m 100% myself on TV and I’m the same as I am, like, off TV.’

She concluded: ‘Yeah, I’m definitely not a fan of them.’

Ella, who had gender reassignment surgery when she was 21 years old, did not name the star she claims made the derogatory comment.

Daily Mail approached a representative for Ella for comment.

Last December she shared a defiant message to anti trans trolls as she opened up about her own transition in a social media post.

Ella took to Instagram with a slew of throwback snaps and explained that she’d ‘always been a girl’ and now her outside appearance matched how she felt on the inside.

She shared snaps of photos as a child, known then as Evan, alongside her supportive family and as a music fan meeting celebs including Rihanna and Alexandra Burke.

Marvelling at the journey she said that while some people would never understand the issue, all she asked was for respect after being ‘born in the wrong body’.

Ella emotionally captioned the post: ‘A reminder to myself on a day I’m not feeling great, I remember how far I’ve come on this crazy journey called life, I’m so proud of myself and also little Evan,’

‘And that in a world where you can be kind, remember you can also be ANYTHING (anything is possible, don’t give up), be LOVED and be AUTHENTICALLY YOURSELF I’ve always been Ella inside …

‘Sometimes I inspire myself, like girl you went through all that & kept going (and always did it with a smile) You had to be that person to become this one’.

She went on: ‘Being transgender is not just a medical transition or about surgery and the way you look. It’s discovering who you are, being brave and strong, living your life authentically,’

‘Loving yourself inside and out, and spreading that love towards other people and accepting one another, no matter the difference ‘.

‘Some people will never get it, or understand. And that’s fine. All I ask for is respect weather you get it or not. I am simply a girl who was born in the wrong body’.

Ella added: ‘My outside now matches how I’ve always felt inside. I didn’t want to become a girl – I AM and have always been a girl’.

During her time on Married At First Sight, Ella was coupled with JJ Slater, though the pair’s relationship did not stand the test of time.

The 32-year-old is now dating former glamour model Katie Price, 47.

Previously speaking about her ex , Ella said: ‘It does make me laugh because you say I’m crazy, and I love Katie but you’re with her now?

‘So, I just wasn’t the right person for him, we haven’t had any contact since the show. I haven’t seen him since the show. We were texting before the vow renewals and I knew he wasn’t feeling it.’

She added to Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast: ‘I didn’t get over JJ for, I’d say it took me a good six to eight months to get over him. I’m fully over him now and I wish him the best, I wish Katie the best, if they’re happy, they’re happy.’
