Australia’s Top Influencer Offers Dismal Pay for Executive Assistant Role

Indy Clinton is on the hunt for a new assistant, and potential applicants will definitely have their work cut out for them.

The influencer, 28, recently posted an ad on the job site Seek, looking for a full-time executive assistant to bring order not only to Indy’s professional life but also to her busy personal schedule.

Indy shares three children – Navy, four, Bambi, two, and Soul, ten months – with husband Ben Azar.

‘You will support both the professional and personal aspects of her life,’ the advertisement read.

‘You will help with content production, admin, brand relationships, and logistical organisation.’

While the advertisement calls for an executive assistant, the demands appear to extend well beyond the scope of traditional EA duties.

‘We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, takes initiative and who is confident in their abilities,’ the post continued.

‘You will also help coordinate family life where needed, from extracurricular scheduling to light support with the children during work-related activities.

‘Executive and personal assistant tasks, including but not limited to organisation of both personal and family life, content creation, scheduling, emails, face-to-face meetings alongside clients, travel.’

The tasks listed would be enough to keep one person busy for 38 hours per week, but it doesn’t stop there.

The successful applicant will also be required to manage Indy’s personal and professional calendars, book appointments, and communicate with agencies and brands.

They will also travel with Indy interstate and overseas, and assist with filming and editing her social media content.

If that wasn’t enough, the litany of tasks also includes running errands for Indy, including grocery shopping and parcel pickups, and even organising family events such as birthday parties.

Applicants will also be expected to: ‘keep spreadsheet of what’s due, invoice tracking and deadlines, personal and family life aid.’

With enough to keep two people busy, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the job would attract an impressive salary.

However, Indy is offering between $35 and $50 per hour for the demanding role.

The lower end of the scale equates to a taxable income of approximately $63,500 per annum based on regular 9-5 hours, but judging by the scope of the role, overtime would likely be required.

This falls well below the median Australian salary, which, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, is currently $88,400.

Further, according to Seek, an executive assistant in Australia can expect to earn between $90,000 to $100,000 per year, which is more in line with the upper tier of Indy’s asking price.

This follows Indy’s revelation about her awkward encounter with fellow influencer Anna Paul at last year’s TikTok Awards.

The social media stars shared the stage to present an award, but many viewers noted the pair seemed to be struggling with their script and appeared tense.

The influencer told LiSTNR’s Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki this week that the issue was a lack of rehearsal and last-minute changes – and not discord between the pair.

‘It was super last minute, they changed it… they got me up and that’s why there was this huge mishap,’ she said.

‘I was there all day rehearsing and then Anna Paul only had time to come in for 10-15 minutes… so bad.’

At the time, fans reacted to the viral clip of the pair attempting to address the audience, with many believing nerves were at play, while others wondered if the two women were feuding.

‘Indy does NOT like Anna,’ someone chimed in, while one more said: ‘Anna was so nervous I felt so bad for her.’

‘Why does Indy look uncoordinated talking to Anna?’ asked one person in the comments.
