Back in 2021 Peter admitted that his eldest child Junior was skeptical when it came to having more siblings, as there would be at least a 16-year age gap between the teenager and a new little brother or sister.
Peter explained: ‘I understand what he meant about the age gap, but I said to him there’d be 16 years between [him and a] new child.’
He continued: ‘I said to him, my brother Andrew – who has sadly passed – and I were 16 years [apart]. He was my best friend. My other brothers know this, but he was my favourite brother. I looked up to him. I don’t really think it matters.’
In July Peter hinted at his future family plans during a candid chat on Vicky Pattison The Secret To podcast.
‘Children… I was like, when I get to 50 I’m done and then I find myself having conversations with [Emily] going, “Yeah you know, if we did have another child, where would we put Junior?”‘.
He went on: ‘I can’t even believe we have those conversations and that makes me think that I just don’t know, it’s just one of those things. It’s just weird that we even have those conversations, so I don’t know’.
Before adding: ‘Listen, us guys can wishful think all we like, right, but it’s going to be up to her’.

They met in 2010 through Emily’s surgeon father Ruaraidh MacDonagh.
He was Peter’s consultant during surgery for kidney stones in 2010 and, knowing she was a fan of his music, introduced her to him.
The pair developed a friendship but did not begin dating until summer 2012.
In an interview last year NHS doctor Emily explained how she tries ‘to keep things consistent’ for her and Pete’s children as well her step-children Princess and Junior.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Emily said she prefers to ‘leave the disciplining’ of her stepchildren to Peter so as not to overstep the boundaries as a step mum.
While the medic admits to feeling more ‘like a big sister’ to the teenagers.
Detailing their parenting strategy, Emily explained: ‘I tend to leave the disciplining up to Pete and often I feel like a big sister, which works really well for us.’
The beauty also explained the importance of all the children having a strict routine so that their home is a safe space as she added: ‘I think routine helps kids feel safe in the structure. I try to keep things consistent for them as much as I can.’

Opening up further about the family’s home life, she went on: ‘I’m quite strict, especially with stuff like manners. Me and Pete are quite similar, really we both are very much up on honesty, manners, kindness.’
In April Peter defended his age-gap relationship in his OK! Magazine column, hitting out at the criticism over Leonardo DiCaprio’s penchant for dating younger women.
‘As you all know, Emily and I have been together for nearly 11 years and have known each other for 13 years’.
‘Even though she is younger than me, I don’t think age matters as we are so happy together!’ the Aussie singer wrote.
