Chris Bath has set the record straight on speculation that she is leaving 10 News First, following her recent announcement as the new host of ABC Sydney’s Drive radio program.
The veteran TV presenter, 57, who attended the ABC Upfronts in Sydney last month, will step into the shoes of long-time presenter Richard Glover in January.
Glover, a household name on the airwaves, is retiring after an impressive 26 years in the role.
However, Bath took to Instagram to address the swirling rumours about her future at Channel 10 on Saturday and confirmed she will remain a staple of the weekend news coverage.
‘Despite reports to the contrary, I will be showcasing the excellent work of the fine #TenNewsFirst team,’ she wrote.

‘See you on the telly for @10newsfirst @channel10au all weekend & in 2025 too… There’s TV life in the old girl yet.’
Her post came amid excitement over her return to ABC Radio, five years after stepping away from the network.
In a statement shared during the Upfronts, Bath expressed her enthusiasm — and nerves — about the new chapter.
‘I’m excited, daunted, a little bit scared and nervous,’ she admitted. ‘The thing I love about radio is something I just don’t think you can create in television. That’s a sense of community that you can actually have live on air.’
Acknowledging the legacy left by Glover, Bath added: ‘It’s daunting to follow someone so renowned, but I’m up for the challenge.’
‘Whenever Richard’s not there, I’ll turn the radio on and then I’m usually angry, unfairly, at whoever’s filling in. This time it’s going to be permanently me, so I just don’t know how I’m going to juggle that,’ she continued.
‘I’m still in a bit of disbelief. I always thought that Richard was going to be there forever.
‘Every time I sit in that chair, I have a pretty healthy dose of imposter syndrome because I don’t know how anyone could be as good a broadcaster as Richard.’
