Capaldi’s Brother Hilariously Mimics F1 Mishap on TikTok!

Lewis Capaldi’s brother has left fans in stitches with his hilarious TikTok page following his Formula One mishap going viral. 

The hitmaker’s older sibling Anthony, 30, went viral during the Singapore Grand Prix due to Sky Sports legend Martin Brundle mistaking him for his Grammy-award winning brother during his chaotic grid walk.

Now, Anthony – who was born in Glasgow – has addressed the awkward moment on his F1 themed TikTok page, which he started in March 2021 and has gained an impressive 12.1K followers.

The Someone You Loved singers brother joked that several people had pointed out he looks like a ‘Temu Lewis Capaldi’ and pointed out other stars he has resembalance to.

He said: ‘Hello, I’ve had a great weekend, I got to go on the grid thanks to my little brother and I got to experience all of this thanks to him and will never be able to thank him another. 

‘We had that fun moment with Martin Brundle and I’ve seen a few comments about people I look like, so I’ve decided to go through the top three and see what people think.

‘I’ve seen a few people say I look like the actor [Harry Melling], who plays Dudley in Harry Potter.’

Sharing a picture of Harry, Anthony added: ‘I don’t think it’s this version of him as he looks good there and obviously I don’t look that much like him, I’ll take it as a compliment.’

He continued: ‘This is the obvious one I’ve seen, called the Temu Lewis Capaldi, fair enough I’ve seen the video, we do look very similar at that point. That one is good.

‘Jack Gleeson is the main one I’ve seen and hey there are worse people to look like.

‘The only thing is he’s got a perfect moustache and I can’t grow beard and he has nice hair and mine is a riot. Outside of that I’ll take it, I had a great weekend thank you to my brother and F1’. 

Anthony added in the caption: ‘Who do I look like?? Just a few of the comments I’ve seen I’ve decided to look myself. Amazing weekend, amazing people, loved every second of it, home time now’. 

Fans quickly took to the comments to agree with his hilarious comment that he looks like his brother and Jack Gleeson. 

They wrote: ‘Temu lewis capaldi, howling; I thought you were a Lewis impersonator at first looooool; Dudley Capaldi the long lost brother of; Jack Gleeson 100000%;

‘Did you say Temu Lewis Capaldi? I am so sorry, that seems mean but it is bloody hilarious!; Jack Gleeson is who I thought’.

While others were thrilled to find Anthony’s F1 themed TikTok account as he regularly documents the races. 

They penned: ‘Finding out that you have an F1 account has made my day!; Finding out you own a f1 page makes everything even better!; Wait this is you?! I’ve just found your account this is iconic lol!’

Anthony also re-shared the hilarious moment where the Sky Sports presenter Martin, 66, attempted to chat to his brother during the grid walk.

Brundle, who has become famed for his pre-race grid walks, had finished interviewing Superman actor David Corensweat and turned his attentions to Lewis.

In the clip, Brundle appeared to recognise Lewis and began speaking to him, ‘Lewis, wonderful to see you’.

‘I’m his brother,’ said the man, who was wearing a cap, in response to Brundle.

Brundle replied, ‘I’m sorry, you’re his brother’ and laughed in recognition of his error, as the real Lewis Capaldi appeared in the background and came to the rescue.

‘I’m sorry, he’s got a cap on,’ Brundle continued through laughter, before asking ‘How are you, how are you both’ to Lewis.

The hilarious exchange came ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, which saw George Russell win from pole and McLaren secure the Constructors Championship. 

‘Very nice to meet you, a big fan,’ the Grammy Award winner said to Brundle, before the brothers were asked who they were supporting.

‘He’s here supporting McLaren,’ he responded while pointing to his brother, acknowledging he is the bigger F1 fan out of the two of them.

It prompted Brundle to ask ‘So he’s the musician and you are the driver’ to his brother, who responded ‘I’m just a guy who’s here, that’s all’, prompting more laughter.

Brundle rounded off the interview by saying ‘Well, I’m sorry that I mistook you, but it’s lovely to see you on the grid.’

Just when the chaotic interview drew to a close, Lewis thanked him and attempted to shake the presenter’s hand.

However Brundle, who was unaware, turned away to continue the grid walk to leave Lewis with his hand outstretched.

Reacting to the accidental snub, the Hold You While You Wait singer joked, ‘I’ll hold that’ and preceded to shake his own hand before bursting into laughter as he walked away with his brother. 

Lewis re-shared the video joking: ‘b*tched by Brundle’.

While Anthony seemed thrilled by the moment, writing: ‘Well tonight was incredible not only did I meet Martin Brundle but I also made it onto the sky f1 page’. 

Martin has since apologised for the awkward moment admitted in an X post that he was under pressure to cover the national anthem. 

He wrote: ‘Sincere apologies Lewis, I turned around to the camera with an urgent 3 second count going on in my ears to wind up for the national anthem,’ Brundle said.

‘Had no idea you were trying to shake my hand. A cardinal sin on my part, which I hope to put right one day. Hope you enjoyed F1.’

As well as Anthony, Lewis has an older brother Warren and sister Danielle, who’s four years older than him and reportedly works as a midwife.

The siblings are the children of Carole Capaldi, who is a nurse, and their father Mark is a fishmonger.
