Wicked fans were abuzz after Ariana Grande corrected the lyrics to a song in the musical.
The Instagram account for the film posted a video of Ariana singing Popular, along with accompanying lyrics flashing on screen.
However, Ariana weighed in after she noticed an inaccuracy.
While the lyric video states Ariana is singing the word ‘poise’, the songstress stated she was actually singing ‘ploys.’

Her correction confused several Wicked fans who initially believed the lyrics stated ‘poise.’
While numerous agreed with Ariana, several others were taken off guard to learn the lyric was actually ‘ploys.’

According to the official Wicked sheet music, the lyrics to the song go ‘proper ploys.’
Ariana plays Glinda while Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba in the upcoming film adaptation of the iconic musical.
During production, Grande and Erivo even got multiple matching tattoos to commemorate the film.

Speaking on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA with Tony Fly and Symon, the duo said their director Jon M. Chu was surprised about them getting the ink before they even finished filming.
‘He was like, “We’re not even done yet,”‘ Ariana recalled. ‘I was like, “Yeah. Should we not be doing this?”‘
Ariana said there are some tattoos they can share publicly, but ‘some are secret.’
On Tuesday, Gold Derby reported that Grande ‘now places among the top five most likely supporting actress contenders’ for the 2025 Oscars due to her performance as The Good Witch of the South.
