Cutting Ties with Friends Earning Less Than a Million

A model has sparked outrage after revealing she refuses to be friends with ‘broke people’ who can’t keep up with her jet-setting lifestyle.

Lana Madison, a transgender model who makes $1.6 million a year selling sultry photos, says she will only hang out with people on a seven-figure salary or more.

The 29-year-old from the US tells Daily Mail she has ‘no interest’ in keeping company with anyone who can’t match her lavish lifestyle.

Lana has cut off old friends from her hometown in southern Texas, claiming they became bitter and jealous when she started making big money.

‘I don’t want to spend time with people who make less money than me because it makes things harder to do if they can’t keep up with my spending,’ she says.

‘If you can’t afford first class, you can’t afford my friendship. If you panic when the bill comes, we won’t get along.’

Lana says her ‘friendship rules’ are designed to protect her success and peace of mind, adding that she wants to be surrounded by equal wealth.

‘When I go out, I want to order champagne without someone rolling their eyes. I want to book a five-star hotel without someone whining about the price,’ she says.

‘I’ve worked too hard to waste my energy on broke vibes.’

The outspoken transgender model, who grew up in a strict Catholic household before transitioning, says her new rules may sound harsh, but they’ve transformed her life.

‘I cut out the friends who guilt-tripped me, and suddenly life became lighter. Broke friends bring drama, rich friends bring opportunities,’ she says.

‘My rich friends are older, but I don’t care about age; their bank balance is more important. Now my circle is full of people who inspire me to level up.’

These days, her old friends often accuse her of being ‘flashy’ or ‘showing off’, but Lana insists she’s simply living the life she worked hard to build. 

‘One girl from my hometown told me I was “obsessed with money”,’ she says.

‘I told her, “No, I’m obsessed with success.” If that makes me shallow, fine—but it also makes me a millionaire.’

Lana says she isn’t the only one with this mindset, insisting most people only want rich friends but won’t be honest about it.

‘Everyone wants rich friends—I’m just brave enough to admit it. Money talks. If you don’t have it, don’t talk to me,’ she says.

Lana says she’s done feeling guilty for ‘broke people’ who can’t keep up with her excessive spending and globe-trotting lifestyle. 

‘Before, I felt guilty for having things my friends didn’t. Now, I don’t apologise for my success,’ she says.

‘I’d rather have three millionaire friends than thirty jealous nobodies.

‘Looks open doors, but money keeps them open—and I’m not letting broke energy close them again.’

Lana boasts 78,300 followers on Instagram and often shares photos of herself enjoying lavish overseas holidays and expensive designer accessories.
