Adam Thomas Describes Bailiffs Trying to Tow His Car from His Cheshire Mansion

Adam Thomas has revealed he was visited by bailiffs at his Cheshire mansion after unknowingly racking up a huge parking fine.

The Emmerdale star, 37, admitted he was stunned when debt collectors turned up on his doorstep and tried to tow his car as he had 10 unpaid parking tickets.

Adam’s brother Scott first shared the story as he detailed the moment he was surprised to receive a parking ticket while he was away in Ibiza, given his car was back in the UK.

He quickly pointed the finger at his brother as he had borrowed his car while he was away, leading Adam to share his own brushes with the law.

Scott revealed: ‘I got a parking fine, the date was the 16/08/2025, I’m in Ibiza, therefore I wasn’t driving my car, someone else was,’ to which Adam replied: ‘I know where this is going.’

He continued: ‘So Adam, rant of the week is you got a ticket in my car and you will be paying it.’

Speaking on their At Home With The Thomas Bro’s podcast, Adam then shared that he’d been visited by bailiffs due to his unpaid parking fines.

He said: ‘Bailiffs turned up to our house not long ago and tried to tow my car away because I had 10 unpaid parking tickets.’

‘So I don’t think this is going to get paid to be honest with you, I can’t even pay my own parking tickets’ as he chucked the parking letter behind him.

He continued: ‘Luckily they couldn’t get into my house because of the gates.’

Adam and Scott’s brother Ryan went on to say: ‘Imagine his car gets towed, it’s all your fault,’ while the Emmerdale star admitted: ‘I’m so bad at paying parking tickets.’

Scott said that Adam’s wife Caroline would have to sort out the fine, as the actor would likely ignore it like the others he’d received.

It comes following reports that Adam has signed up for the new series of I’m A Celebrity: South Africa, an all-stars edition of the ITV show.

The show, which wrapped filming last month, will air next year and brings back past favourites for another shot at jungle glory.

Adam, who finished third in the 2016 series behind Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett, was always keen to reclaim his crown.

But it has now emerged that his motivation may be more financial than competitive – as his hot sauce business faces mounting debts.

The star’s food brand, Oh My Glaze, once stocked on supermarket shelves and sold online in sets of three for £19.95, is currently unavailable, with its website simply telling customers the range will be ‘back soon’.

However, accounts filed to Companies House this week paint a bleaker picture, as the venture is said to owe £60,000 to creditors and is £12,579 in the red, even after company assets are taken into account.

It is not the first time Adam has faced business troubles, and just last year he walked away from a £100,000 tax bill after the collapse of his Greater Manchester restaurant, The Spinn.

The eatery closed in 2022 with debts totalling £300,000 – one third of which was owed to HMRC.

Now, liquidators’ final reports have revealed that creditors received nothing back. The statement read: ‘No dividend has been paid to any class of creditor in the liquidation. Due to low levels of realisations, none was anticipated at the outset.’

The collapse has also attracted scrutiny from government officials, with liquidators confirming that Adam’s conduct as a director has been reported to the Department for Business and Trade under the Company Directors’ Disqualification Act 1986.

They explained: ‘Some of the work Liquidators are required to undertake is to comply with legislation such as the Company Directors’ Disqualification Act 1986 and Statement of Insolvency Practice 2 – Investigations by Office Holders in Administration and Insolvent Liquidations and may not necessarily bring any financial benefit to creditors, unless those investigations revealed potential asset recoveries that could have been pursued for the benefit of creditors.

‘Our report on the conduct of the directors of the Company… was submitted in accordance with statutory timescales and is confidential.’

With two struggling ventures behind him, the sizable pay check attached to I’m A Celebrity All Stars is thought to have been an irresistible draw.

ITV producers, however, are keen to focus on Adam’s enduring popularity with viewers. A source told The Sun: ‘This will be a glorious return for Adam as he established himself as a true fan favourite through his series in camp and then on the spin-off show.

‘He’s stayed in the limelight, too, with Waterloo Road and then on ITV alongside brother Ryan with challenge show 99 To Beat. It’s the perfect time for him to head back into the jungle and affirm his position as Mr Bushtucker Trial.’

During his original stint in the Australian jungle, Adam earned the nickname ‘Mr Bushtucker Trial’ after bravely taking on a record 12 challenges – more than any contestant before or since.

He later returned in 2019 to co-host spin-off show Extra Camp with Joel Dommett and Emily Atack.

This autumn, cameras will capture his next adventure when filming for the new All Stars series begins in South Africa.
