Anne Hegerty has revealed she shed 30lbs without doing ‘anything deliberate’.
The Chase star, 67, insisted she has never taken Ozempic or any other weight loss jab and instead lost the weight by becoming slightly more active.
Speaking to Daily Mail at the TV Choice Awards, she said: ‘I’m not doing anything deliberately, and some of my clothes do need altering. I think I’ve lost about 30 pounds.
‘I did think to myself that I need to get more active, because I really don’t walk much and I should do more of that. I need to do more stretches, because I’ve no core strength, and I think actually that may be a good idea.’
Although she hasn’t taken Ozempic yet, her doctor has recommended it to her because she is prediabetic.
‘My doctor said to me about me being prediabetic, and suggested something like Ozempic, and I told him I’d think about it, but I’m only thinking about it, and it’s only because he said it’s to stay off Diabetes.

‘I think I’m ok, but I’ll bear it in mind. He keeps being disappointed when I haven’t got Diabetes,’ she said.
Asked if she’s dating at the moment, Anne replied: ‘I’m not really interested in that sort of thing.
‘I like my own company, and I like to be left alone. Men make such good friends. I have so many male friends, it’s great.’
The star insisted she used to regret not having children but nowadays feels like she ‘dodged a bullet’.
‘I spend quite a lot of time on Mumsnet, reading, ‘Am I being unreasonable?’ And I think to myself, wow, all these problems I don’t have – it’s fantastic,’ she said.
‘All these people having problems with their husbands, and their children, and I feel like, gosh, wow, that’s awful, poor you. I feel very smug about it basically.’
Anne was also asked if she ever worries about getting cancelled one day.
‘Sometimes you do try to keep things a bit bland, and then you feel angry at having to do that. Touch wood at the moment, I’ve not felt anyone up,’ she said.
The TV personality, known as The Governess on the hit ITV show, admitted that despite the success of the quiz show, none of the chasers are paid a set salary
Anne previously revealed that she can’t rely on a steady salary despite the success of The Chase.
The TV personality, known as The Governess on the hit ITV show, admitted that despite the success of the quiz show, none of the chasers are paid a set salary.
Speaking to The Mirror, Anne explained that she and the other chasers wouldn’t want to welcome a new addition to the team anytime soon for one key reason.
When asked whether a new chaser might join the show in the future, she replied: ‘Well, we do always hope not.’
She continued: ‘We are paid per show, so we’re not on a salary. It’s not as if they’re going to up the budget and add a new salary.’
‘A new chaser would just mean the same number of shows shared between more people – so less money for everyone. So, hope not!’
Though Anne acknowledged that the addition of a new chaser would cut into her earnings, she clarified that she holds no ill will toward Darragh Ennis, who joined the show in 2020.
Anne also spoke about the camaraderie between the chasers, revealing that despite their competitive nature, they all get along well and often spend time together, especially when they’re all filming.
Despite not having a guaranteed salary from The Chase, Anne’s business, Frosty Knickers Ltd, reported over £807,000 in revenue as of August 2023, according to The Mirror.
While her firm’s assets and net worth are impressive, Anne has said she’s not a big spender, believing there’s no need to ‘slosh money around’.
