Jessica Biel Shares Foods She Bans for Kids After Justin Timberlake’s Paid Promotion

Jessica Biel is very strict when it comes to fast food, and when her kids ask for it, she just says no.

The actress, 43, who admits maintaining her ‘peak shape’ requires strict workouts,  founded her own health and wellness company KinderFarms in 2021.

While discussing the business with Parade, she explained why she has a strict rule with her kids Silas, 10, and Phineas, four, when it comes to drive-throughs.

‘I’m like, “Sorry, guys, I’m not doing it.” They don’t get McDonald’s,’ the Better Sister star told the outlet. Biel shares her sons with husband Justin Timberlake, 44.

‘I just feel like I don’t know what’s going on with [the] quality of that food. It’s stuff like that that I’m like, “No, we’re not.” Let’s go have a great burger and fries at a fancy place. I’d rather pay more for you to have something fancy than something like that.’

The Emmy nominee may have been referring to the ‘pink slime’ once present in McDonald’s hamburgers. The product made from beef trimmings and treated with ammonium hydroxide was discontinued after the news became public in 2012, according to NBC News

The Candy star said, ‘I guess I’m not crazy, rigid and strict, but that would be something that, if they asked me for, I would just be like, “Next! Next place. Next down the line!”‘

Interestingly, Timberlake was paid $6 million in 2003 for singing the McDonald’s ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ jingle, which he later said he regretted.

Some fans agreed with Biel’s rules for eating out. ‘It’s so unhealthy, I agree,’ said one follower.

‘Your comments about McDonald’s? Ibe been sick for 20 years. Common bile duct disorder that caused chronic pancreatitis. Every time I have McDonald’s it causes pain and makes me sick. Wendy’s or Roy Rodgers once in a while is fine. I can see why you wouldn’t want your kids to eat there,’ explained a fan.

However, the wealth gap seems to play a decision in many a mom’s options. ‘So here’s the thing, Jessica,’ wrote one follower, ‘some of us are poor.’

Biel, who shared a glimpse of what she eats in a day with The Los Angeles Times in 2017, avoids wheat and dairy, explaining, ‘My digestion is better, I feel better, I have more energy… I just try to eat really healthy.

She includes lean meats such as chicken and fish on her plate along with lots of fruits and veggies which are grown in her own home garden.

Her concern for what she and her family were putting in their bodies evolved into her to co-found KinderFarms.

The wellness company offers cough, cold, pain and fever medicines, as well as electrolyte solutions and supplements, made without artificial filler, colors or added sugars.

‘I just really believe in the products, and I really trust what’s in them,’ she said of the  kid friendly products that adults are encouraged to use as well.

‘And for me, I want to help my immune system the best I possibly can.

‘And I don’t want to put a bunch of junk in there.

‘I don’t want to put stuff in that I cannot pronounce,’ she explained.

‘That’s my new rule: I don’t know what this crazy word is. I am not [putting] this word in my body or my kid’s body, you know?’
