Popular singer-songwriter Ronan Keating, rock group Keane’s Tom Chaplin, metal band Linkin Park’s Dave Farrell and Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Mike and the Mechanics, will also be sharing the fairways with cult US rock legends Huey Lewis and Bon Jovi’s Tico Torres.
This will be the first time Catherine has played in the competition, although she was an enthusiastic supporter in 2005 when her husband Michael Douglas teamed up with Scottish golf star Colin Montgomerie to play in the Team Championship.
Sharing her excitement at the prospect, she said: ‘I really enjoyed being at the Championship all those years ago and I was able to play a round on the practice days.
‘The atmosphere was fantastic and the galleries were great and really encouraged me. Now, to be playing in the Dunhill Links Championship proper is a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to it.’
It comes after Wednesday star Catherine returned from her lavish summer getaway to Capri last month.

She threw her dress over a black swimsuit and accessorised with a matching headband, adding some glamour with a pair of silver hoop earrings.

The couple tied the knot at the Plaza Hotel in NYC after they began dating two years earlier, and have grown into one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples.
In 2001, Catherine told Larry King of how their relationship began: ‘We met in 1996 at the Deauville Film Festival…I think it was 1996!’
‘I had been told Michael Douglas wanted to meet me. I was a little nervous because I didn’t quite know what he wanted to meet me about.’
Douglas was promoting A Perfect Murder and Zeta-Jones was promoting The Mask of Zorro.
Their friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith – who used to be married – introduced the actors at a private dinner and Michael asked Catherine if he could sit next to her.
He famously told her he was going to be the father of her children which shocked her, and he sent flowers soon after to apologize. They started a friendship.
‘Nine months later, I’m still having long conversations with him on the phone, having great dinner dates, constantly wondering, “Why are we not together?”‘ she told King.
