Hit Network has announced a massive shakeup with some of their talent amid a bloody breakfast ratings war with KIIS FM.
The commercial radio network revealed the Mike E & Emma show will be moved out of their Sydney breakfast slot on 104.1 2DayFM as it battles against KISS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show.
From August 26, the show, which is hosted by Mike Etheridge and Emma Chow will temporarily take up residence Monday to Thursday in the national Nights timeslot and the national Breakfast shift on the weekends.
Mike E and Emma said: ‘See you later 4am alarm! We’re pumped to bring the cheekiness of Mike E & Emma to national Nights during the week and then wake up Australia for weekend Breakfast.
‘We can’t wait to have more hilarious conversations with our ride or die listeners from all over the country!’
Head of Hit Metro Content Amanda Lee added that the radio duo ‘have been loved’ in Sydney for well over a decade, and it was time for the pair to go national.
‘It’s exciting to now have the opportunity for the rest of the country to fall in love with them,’ she said.
In the interim, the network has also moved hosts Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye to the 104.1 2DayFM Breakfast timeslot, with Jimmy & Nath now waking up Sydney.

Mike E & Emma can be heard across the national Hit Network Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 10pm, and from 8am to 10am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Jimmy & Nath for Breakfast can be heard from 6am to 9am, Monday to Friday, on 104.1 2DayFM.
The Hit Network is also home to Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little’s hugely popular drive show, and Kyle and Jackie O’s rival show Fifi, Fev and Nick.
FM rival KIIS expanded the Kyle and Jackie O breakfast show, hosted by Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, into the Melbourne market in April.
However, the Sydney based ratings titans were left shocked when they lost to their Melbourne Hit Network rivals Fifi, Fev and Nick in the most recent radio survey.

Kyle and Jackie O came in sixth place with a 5.9 per cent share behind SmoothFM and Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show.
Meanwhile, Fifi, Fev and Nick sat securely in third place after dropping to a 9.5 per cent share from 10 per cent.
The radio trio were booted out of second place by Nova FM duo Lauren Phillips and Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins, who had a huge win in the ratings after KIIS FM axed them.
GOLD FM’s Christian O’Connell still has the highest rating breakfast show in Melbourne with a 10.8 per cent share.

3AW Breakfast with Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft is the highest rating breakfast show overall in Melbourne with an 18.8 per cent share.
ARN Chief Content Officer Duncan Campbell said: ‘Despite their 25 years on air together, The Kyle & Jackie O Show is still a brand-new show for Melbourne, and we are encouraged by these early results.
‘In particular, the increase in cume [cumulative audience] demonstrates that the show is attracting new listeners and as that cume is converted to loyal listening, we’ll see share increasing.
‘We know it’ll take a few more surveys before their presence truly starts to resonate with the Melbourne audience, but we’re excited to build on this foundation and are confident that Kyle & Jackie O will continue to capture the hearts of Melbourne listeners just as they have in Sydney.’
