Insiders on The Block have revealed a big Sydney star almost walked away with the keys to House Two from the 2023 season after placing a big-money bid on it.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that PR maven Roxy Jacenko was said to have been in talks with executive producer and co-creator Julian Cress.
The socialite, 44, had her eyes on the renovation done by Queensland couple Leah and Ash Milton after their house was passed in at auction.
‘Those phone calls started months after the show wrapped. With even the 2023 contestants unaware that those conversations were happening,’ one source said.
While Roxy did not confirm why she wanted to purchase the property, some speculated she had plans to follow in the footsteps of Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli.
Adrian, 34, who is now one of Australia’s youngest billionaires, shot to fame on The Block in 2022 when he got into a bidding war with Block veteran Danny Wallis.
Since then, the LMCT+ founder bought three houses from the 2023 season and has used them as prizes in ticketed giveaways sold through his business.
At the time Roxy considered purchasing House Two, she was launching her online marketing course Roxy’s Bootcamp, which debuted with a mansion giveaway.

‘It is unconfirmed if Roxy did intend to follow Adrian Portelli and auction off the property but it seemed likely that was where the sale was going,’ one source said.
‘An offer is an offer and they [The Block producers] don’t ask those questions.’
Leah and Ash went on to sell their property on Charming Street in Hampton East to a private buyer for $3,125,000, netting them a profit of $155,000.

While Roxy did not purchase a Block house last year, an insider revealed the PR queen is more than welcome to take another crack at the auction in October.
‘[Celebrity] involvement ads to show excitement and these heavy hitters have been a huge part in the way the last few seasons have played out,’ they said.
‘This year’s location is very appealing to all buyers looking for a holiday escape and these properties won’t be just appealing to Melbournians.’
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Nine and Roxy for comment.
