Taylor Swift Makes History at Wembley with Eighth Show

Taylor Swift has revealed that she’s become the first solo artist to play Wembley eight times on a single tour.

The Cruel Summer songstress, 34, made the impressive announcement as she opened up her last night of the European leg of the Eras Tour on Tuesday night.

As she began with her Lover era as usual she greeted the enthusiastic crowds she told them how it was an ‘honour’ to welcome them to the tour.

She then said it was with fans’ support that she was able to make the milestone, telling the screaming crowds: ‘You have made me the first solo artist to play Wembley eight times on a single tour!’

The audience then loudly applauded back to her as she got on with her next song – Lover.

It comes as she has reportedly invited the families of the victims of the Southport stabbings to her final Eras Tour show at Wembley on Tuesday night.

It came after she met two young girls at one recent London gig who were injured in the knife rampage.

Bebe King, six, Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were killed whilst at a Swift-themed dance class on July 29, while 10 others were also injured.

Axel Rudakubana, 18, was charged with three counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder.

Swift reportedly reached out to the families of the Southport stabbing victims before she took to the stage at Wembley on Thursday with the gig said to be ‘the hardest concert of her career’ after the killings.

And now GB News reports that the families have been invited to tonight’s concert where they will meet Taylor.

They will also be meeting King Charles at Buckingham Palace in London tomorrow.

A representative for Taylor has been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

King Charles visited the deeply-impacted community on Tuesday to offer his support and condolences.

It comes after Taylor met two young girls at her last gig who were injured in the Southport knife rampage.

The Shake It Off singer invited the two young girls backstage and posed for photos before one of her record breaking shows over the weekend.

She reportedly reached out to the families of the Southport stabbing before she took to the stage at Wembley on Thursday with the gig said to be ‘the hardest concert of her career’ after the killings.

As she took to the stage – returning to the UK for the first time since the tragedy – she appeared overwhelmed as she welcomed 92,000 fans to the final European leg of her Era’s World Tour.

While she did not mention the stabbing explicitly, the three innocent victims are said to have been in Swift’s thoughts, who is said to have been ‘shaken to the core’ by the incident.

‘Taylor may not have spoken about Elsie Dot, Alice and Bebe on stage but she has reached out to their families,’ an insider said. ‘It is something that has weighed heavily on her mind.’

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Swift said she was at ‘a complete loss’ over the devastating attack.

‘The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,’ the singer said following the incident.

‘The loss of life and innocence and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, the first response.

‘These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.’

Just days later, Swift was then forced to cancel three gigs in Vienna after police uncovered a foiled ISIS terror plot.

Swift has not commented publicly on the attempted attack but insiders said she was left ‘horrified’.
