Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has admitted she thought she was ‘cancelled’ after being ‘fake’ while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.
The Love Island winner, 29, has revealed that she has spent the last few months in therapy after appearing on the ITV show.
After two weeks in the house, Ekin-Su became the fourth person to be evicted, after the other housemates accused her of being fake and playing a role.
She left to jeers and boos, and was so upset by the reaction that she didn’t attend the final.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine the influencer has now said she ‘told her family she was cancelled’ and received several death threats following the appearance.

She said: ‘I felt like my career was over. I was getting death threats. I told my family I had been cancelled, packed a bag and left the country.’
Rather than blaming others, Ekin-Su said she is now in therapy and that it was the ‘wrong decision’ for her to enter the house following splitting from ex boyfriend and co-star Davide Sanclimenti, 29.
Ekin-Su and Davide won Love Island in 2022 and went onto date for 18-months, and ever had their own spin-off reality show, but their relationship wasn’t plain sailing after the Italian hunk was accused of cheating with an OnlyFans model.
The reality star went onto admit that she became ‘defensive’ in Big Brother whenever any of her housemates brought up ex ‘Davide, Love Island or OnlyFans’.
She continued: ‘I made a wrong decision to go in there and I know that. But as much as Celebrity Big Brother was bad for me, I need to take ownership of how I was. I didn’t do enough research and didn’t expect it to be so intense.
‘I arrived jet-lagged with no sleep. I wasn’t in the right headspace and I admit I wasn’t myself. I didn’t speak to anyone about Davide cheating on me – I was lying to everybody about my mindset, but the public could see I wasn’t being honest. They were right saying that I was fake.’
Ekin-Su insisted she doesn’t have an issue with OnlyFans but the topic did ‘hit a nerve’ because she was ‘vulnerable’ at the time.
Discussing her eviction, the beauty said she was ‘shocked’ her name was called and she ‘felt insecure’ when she was booed out of the house by the studio audience.

After the show, Ekin-Su appeared on Big Brother: Late And Live where she was grilled by celebrity panelist Layton Williams, who blasted: ‘Don’t blame it on the edit. We see what we see,’ while show presenter Will Best dubbed her ‘Ekin Boo Hoo Hoo’.
More than 130 people complained to Ofcom about her treatment on the spin-off show.
Ekin-Su said she was ‘disappointed’ in Layton as she was a fan of his before and felt ‘there was no need for him to turn on me’.
The TV personality, who has also appeared on Dancing On Ice and The Traitors US, went onto tell the publication that she has ‘regrets’ about going into Big Brother and ‘wishes she had never’ signed up.
She added: ‘I wanted to prove to people that I could do something without my ex and it backfired. My self-worth is ingrained in my work and external validation from others. So when the public hated me, I hated myself. Without the cheers, I was nothing and it was then I realised that I have to change. I have to learn to give myself the love that I seek from other people.’
Ekin-Su and Davide broke up in June 2023, after a year of dating, before reuniting shortly after. In January 2024 the pair split for good following cheating allegations against him.
Speaking of her split, Ekin-Si admitted they were in a ‘toxic relationship’ and said she is ‘glad it’s over’ and ‘wishes she had ended it soon’.
Ekin-Su is now enjoying the single life and is set to jet off to the States to rub shoulders with Hollywood as the Traitors US is nominated for four gongs at the Emmy Awards.
Ekin-Su was the focus of the series’ most talked-about moment during an episode called The Funeral which saw her buried alive.
And the episode has been nominated for Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Programme and Ekin-Su is expected to attend the glittering ceremony, to be held at the Peacock Theatre in LA this September, and potentially pick up the prize alongside cast and crew.
