Denise Scott's WILD after-party warning

Stars looking for a decent ‘kick on’ after Sunday’s 2024 Logie Awards would do well to stick close to Denise Scott.

Her Mother and Son co-star Matt Okine revealed to Daily Mail Australia that hotel management had to warn the pair, given Denise’s penchant for wild after parties.

‘The hotel actually had to send a warning,’ Matt revealed standing next to Denise on the Logies red carpet.

‘They sat us down and said, “Look, no kick ons at Denise’s room. There have been too many complaints in the past.”‘

Matt added that it wasn’t just loud noises and late nights that management were worried about, but also Denise’s penchant for willfully destroying hotel property like a 1970s rock star.

‘We can’t afford to buy another TV, if this one gets, you know, thrown off the balcony here,’ Matt said.

‘So, yeah, we’ll have to find somewhere else to do it.’

However, Denise’s Logies after-party plans might have a bit more of a romantic bent.

‘I’m going to, you know, hook up with someone, I guess. As I usually do,’ Denise joked.

Both Denise and Matt are up for awards this year.

Matt is in the running for the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for his role as Arthur in the ABC reboot of Mother and Son.

Denise, meanwhile is up for the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy for her Mother and Son role of Maggie.

The show itself is also nominated for Best Scripted Comedy Program.

TV Tonight reported this week that the comedy series had been renewed for a six-episode second season that will begin filming later this year.

The pair told Daily Mail Australia that the season renewal and nominations felt ‘great.’

‘It’s a relief, you know, we’re taking on a very, very important legacy,’ Matt said.

‘And so to know that it has been received well, and that there is enough confidence to, you know, come back for another, we’re gonna smash it out of the park. We can’t wait.’

The 2024 iteration of Mother and Son is a reboot of the classic ABC series that starred Ruth Cracknell and Gary McDonald and ran from 1984 to 1994.

It tells the story of Arthur who, after breaking up with his long-suffering girlfriend, moves back home with his widowed mother Maggie.

Denise recently opened up on her intense 17 months of breast cancer treatment amid her battle with an ‘aggressive’ form of the disease.

The beloved Australian comedian was diagnosed with cancer near the start of 2023 and revealed the shock news publicly in August last year.

She has now detailed her ‘pretty much non-stop’ 17 months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments to fight the ‘particularly aggressive’ form of breast cancer.

‘Yesterday was my last day of chemo. I’ve been having treatment for breast cancer HER2 positive pretty much non-stop for 17 months,’ she shared on Facebook alongside a picture of herself in hospital.

Denise confirmed that her latest mammogram was ‘clear’ as she thanked her fans for their support amid the difficult time.

‘For now, at least, the treatment has done its job,’ she penned.

‘Latest mammogram was clear. I lost all my hair (in) the first round of chemo, then got these thin white, quite frankly disappointing, tufts grow in (the) second round – different sort of chemo.
