Heartbreak High Star Spotted in Ripped Outfit in Sydney!

Alex Dimitriades rose to fame as a heartthrob on Heartbreak High in the ’90s.

And the Australian actor is still busy working on his career, having been spotted on a film set in Sydney’s Mona Vale recently.

The 51-year-old has changed since his days on the teen soap, these days sporting a salt-and-pepper beard and longer hair.

Alex was very dressed down for his role, donning a casual look consisting of a dirty, worn blue jumper over a white shirt.

He added a pair of track pants with holes in them as well as sneakers, and carried a tote bag.

It’s unclear what project Alex is working on, but he most recently appeared in the series Bay of Fires.

The star rose to fame after playing teenage ‘cool guy’ high school student Nick Poulos in ’90s teen drama Heartbreak High.

Three decades later, he has branched out from the film and TV industry to pursue his music career, becoming one of Sydney’s most in-demand DJs.

Better known by his stage name, DJ Boogie Monster, Alex is now making a name for himself in the music scene.

Alex was just 20 years old at the time of filming Heartbreak High, with the show being a spin-off of the very successful film based on the same character, The Heartbreak Kid.

The show was a huge success in Australia and went on to air in over 25 countries worldwide.

Alex’s character died in a boxing accident at the end of the first season.

He continued his acting career in television series Blue Murder, Underbelly, Secret Circle, Tidelands and The Slap, as well as movies such as Head On.

The ’90s teen drama tackled important issues, including racism, at the fictional Hartley High.

The drama, which ran from 1994 to 1999 on Channel 10 and the ABC, launched the careers of Ada Nicodemou and Callan Mulvey, among others.

Speaking with Daily Mail Australia in 2021, Alex said he feels ‘very lucky.’

‘I’m very lucky, in terms of how it was set up and structured,’ he said.

‘I was a teenager and we did a movie first, The Heartbreak Kid and that was hugely successful… I was like a young new star and they really put me out there,’ Alex said.

‘And I had no idea what was going on, I was rolling with the punches and I was very, very young and just out there, living the dream I suppose…

‘I knew I was good at it [acting]. I knew it was something that I had potentially a good future with, but it’s not something I ever imagined doing. It was pretty wild.’

Alex said despite rising to fame at a young age, he always remained humble and grounded.

‘I was normal about it all, people were like, “how are you with it all, how’s your life?”‘ he added.

‘I remained the same person. I started trying to visualise where I wanted to go with this thing and not get caught up with [the idea of] “how awesome I am.”
