The former Modern Family star Sarah Hyland had a scary run-in with masked men who allegedly burglarized her home last week.
However, she only glimpsed the aftermath of the apparent robbery virtually via her security cameras, as the 33-year-old actress was out of town when the break-in occurred.
In a particularly brazen move, the men allegedly burglarized her home around sunset — when it was still light out — on Saturday, July 27, according to sources who spoke with TMZ.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Hyland requesting comment.
The burglars are reported to have broken through one of the windows at her home in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood, which she shares with her husband Wells Adams.

Hyland was reportedly alerted to the break-in via an alert from her home’s security system.
She was able to view her security cameras remotely, which is how she reportedly told police that she saw two masked men exiting the house.
It’s unclear how long the men were in the home after smashing through the window, but police who were called after Sarah saw them leaving arrived after they had already made a run for it.
The responding officers reportedly did a sweep of the home in search of any stragglers, but all of the burglars appear to have escaped by the time police arrived.
Although the case is still under investigation, law enforcement hasn’t made any arrests in the case at this time.
So far, it’s unclear what might have been stolen from Hyland’s home.
The former Love Island USA host will be doing an inventory of her possessions as soon as she arrives back in Los Angeles, which the police will use to help track down any stolen property.
Sarah shares the home with her husband, the former Bachelorette suitor Wells Adams. It’s unclear if he was also out of town at the time of the burglary.
The lovebirds began dating in late 2017, and by 2018 he had moved to Los Angeles to make a life with her.
In 2020, she dropped $4 million on a home in Studio City that the two shared, despite having to postpone their intended nuptials due to the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sarah is best known for being part of the ensemble cast of the massively popular comedy series Modern Family, which aired from 2009 to 2020.
She later hosted the fourth and fifth seasons of Love Island USA, before being replaced on the sixth season by Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix.
