Abbie Chatfield has hit back at claims her boyfriend Adam Hyde’s action is ‘controlling’ as she opened about about their new romance.
The Bachelor star, 29, took to Instagram earlier this week to share a video detailing the one thing in particular she loves about her relationship with musician Adam.
In the lengthy footage, Abbie revealed that she loves it when Adam orders her food for her and her friends in a restaurant to take away from her ‘decision fatigue’.
She insisted she loves being a ‘princess’ in her relationship as she detailed all the things Adam will do for her, but her comments sparked a huge debate.
While some of her followers gushed over the kind gesture, others suggested that it sounded ‘controlling’, accusations Abbie didn’t shy away from firmly shutting down.
In the video, Abbie gave a candid insight into her relationship with the Peking Duk frontman as she details how much of a ‘mental load’ he takes off her.
‘I really love being a princess. I love not having to order my own meals at a restaurant, I don’t even look at the menu, I don’t need to look. I do for a little squeeze sometimes, this man orders for me,’ she shared.
‘He’ll order dinner, he’ll order dinner for me and my friends and it’s in the least controlling way, it’s so hot! He’ll make sure we have more rounds of drinks coming without us asking or wondering where things are.’

She explained: ‘He’ll go ”do you girls want me to order?”, we will go ”yeah”, he will order and then go to my friend and say ”did I miss anything, what do you reckon?” and she’ll go ”nah I think it’s pretty good”, he’ll go ”Abbie what do you reckon?”.’
Abbie said Adam will tell her what time she needs to leave the house, book flights for her and look up restaurants for her to go to, describing herself as the CEO in their relationship, while he is the manager.
‘I make no decisions, I can if I want to, he checks it’s OK with me. But he gets it done like 99 per cent of the time,’ she gushed.
In a caption, she added: ‘Hey did you all know that when you date someone it should take away from the mental load not add to it???? But you can still have autonomy and have a final say in decisions??? Pls stop mothering these men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
However, her remarks divided her fans as they were quick to take to the comments section to share their thoughts, with some claiming it sounded ‘controlling’.
One penned: ‘I’m so utterly confused. How is a partner ordering for you at a restaurant a good thing? I’d see that as controlling. I understand decision fatigue, but can’t fathom someone deciding what I’m going to eat at a restaurant.’

But Abbie was quick to passionately hit back at the claims as she insisted she always has the final say and said Adam is just trying to help her not feel overwhelmed.
She penned: ‘I explain it’s about decision fatigue and he orders then asks if he missed anything. He does 99% of the work and I approve it! Like I said I’m the CEO hahahaha.
‘It’s not control when I have final say, and if I want to order I just do, it isn’t like I have to ask if I’m allowed but he knows that ordering food is overwhelming sometimes for me.
‘Like I said in the video I’ve had men do it TO me and not care what I actually want which is controlling but Adam does it FOR me to let me have one less task and I add what I want at the end.’
Others fans agreed with her perspective as they gushed over Adam’s actions and congratulated Abbie on her new relationship.

Earlier this month, Abbie sweetly told Stellar Magazine that her relationship with Adam is the best she’s ever had.
‘It isn’t like other people I’ve had flings with. And this is gonna sound a bit w**ky, but he’s had a bigger career than me,’ she said amid concerns from fans that Adam is ‘using her’ for fame.
‘I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful in his own right. I think I’m cool for being with him, not the other way around.’
Abbie was friends with Adam for two years before they started dating, which she said has added to the trust between them.
‘I guess with Adam it’s different, because I trust the strength of our relationship. But also, us hanging out isn’t a big, new thing. We’ve been hanging out publicly for years,’ she said.
