Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Worry That Daughter Sunday, 17, May Become a ‘Diva Nepo Baby’ at NYC Parties

Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are said to have some concerns about their eldest daughter Sunday Rose’s move into the modelling world.

While proud of their 17-year-old’s achievements, insiders reveal the pair are struggling with how quickly their teen is stepping into the spotlight.

‘Nicole especially had hoped to have at least one more year at home with her baby, but Sunday’s always been the most strongest-willed of all four of her kids,’ an insider told this week’s New Idea magazine.

During New York Fashion Week earlier this month, Sunday stole the spotlight in Manhattan, attending star-studded parties by herself, with Nicole and Keith nowhere in sight.

At a Chanel event, she was even spotted behind the DJ booth with Romy Mars, who is the cousin of Nicolas Cage.

Romy, 18, recently made headlines for a viral TikTok with actor Jacob Elordi and for a cheeky helicopter stunt involving her dad’s credit card.

Despite Sunday’s exciting career progression, Nicole and Keith are keeping a watchful eye.

‘It’s true they’re worried about bad influences and don’t want her turning into some kind of diva nepo-baby nightmare,’ the source added.

‘A reputation is easy to lose, hard to gain and even harder to regain, so they’re struggling to find the right balance between keeping her safe and inciting a rebellion.’

For Nicole, Sunday’s sudden leap into adulthood is more than just a parental challenge.

‘It’s understandable why this would be a difficult process for Nicole,’ the source said.

‘But as Sunday always likes to remind her, Nicole had already starred in BMX Bandits by the time she was 16.’

Sunday herself has said that modelling has always been her dream, but she’s followed two firm rules from her superstar parents – wait until 16 to enter the industry and always put school first.

‘At first I hated the rules, but I’m really glad they’re in place,’ she recently told Nylon magazine. ‘It keeps me in a good mindset.’

Even so, with the US school year just kicking off, it seems Sunday has found a way to get around the rules in order to attend Fashion Week.

‘Sunday’s very impatient and serious about her fashion career,’ the source explained.

‘She also knows how important networking is and is well aware of the pitfalls of fame. Her dad’s rehab stories are enough to keep her on track.’

Meanwhile, shortly after Sunday’s NYFW show, a source exclusively informed DailyMail.com that Nicole was upset by some of the criticisms levelled at her daughter online.

‘Nicole was the same age as Sunday when she landed her first acting role and she was told back then to try something else,’ the insider pointed out.

‘Nicole faced “no’s” without having famous parents to shoehorn her in the door so she understands the criticism but it also upsets her because she is reminded of the hell she went through when she got her start,’ the source continued.
