Styled in a swanky British-style safari jacket, actor James Brolin cut a dashing figure as he stepped out in Santa Monica for a private screening of his 1980s cult classic Night of the Juggler.
The 84-year-old looked thrilled to be back in the spotlight, mingling with fans at the Aero Theater. However, one notable absence did not go unnoticed – his superstar wife, Barbra Streisand.
That didn’t stop Brolin from greeting fans and signing autographs outside the venue, flashing his signature charming smile while dressed casually in a black undershirt, black jeans and white sneakers.
The legendary 83-year-old singer has kept a low profile since the release of what could be her final album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail on September 4, Brolin gave a rare glimpse into what Streisand has been up to – and her current state of health.
‘She’s alright, she’s laying back,’ Brolin revealed outside the theater.

Brolin’s evening wasn’t without a notable absence – his wife, EGOT superstar Barbra Streisand, was reportedly ‘hanging back,’ he told Daily Mail
The screening took place at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, where Brolin told Daily Mail that Streisand is in ‘perfect’ health and staying vigilant with her workout routineÂ
When pressed further about her well-being, he beamed: ‘[She’s] perfect. Nobody works out more than she does. Love is the best medicine.’Â
Since wrapping her album release and press tour, Streisand appears to have been enjoying downtime at her $20million, 19-bedroom Malibu clifftop mansion, doting on her three fluffy white Malteses and fussing over the sweeping gardens of pink blooms she’s famous for.Â
The EGOT star also has a documentary about her life in the works, but in line with her current lifestyle, she claimed in an interview with Variety in June to promote her album: ‘I’m very lazy. I don’t like to have to work.’
‘I like to be free. I don’t like to have commitments,’ she asserted.
But that didn’t stop her from extending her love and support to husband Brolin’s big screening, writing on Instagram: ‘Last night they showed a special screening of a movie my husband made years ago called ‘Night of the Juggler’ and it’s coming to Blu-ray and DVD later this month.Â
‘It’s so good, it could have been made today (!) – my husband is so fantastic in it. Don’t miss it.’Â

Beyond that role, Brolin is widely recognized for his performances in films like The Amityville Horror and Burlesque.
Streisand herself is one of the most successful recording artists of all time, with more than 150 million records sold worldwide and the distinction of being the only artist to have a number one album in each of the last six decades.Â
But the EGOT winner would also dip her toes in acting, starring in the critically acclaimed 1968 film, Funny Girl, and bagging an Academy Award for Best Actress.Â
She also starred in the 1969 musical Hello, Dolly!, the 1972 screwball comedy What’s Up, Doc? and the 1973 romance The Way We Were.

Their nearly 30-year marriage has remained strong, with Brolin telling PEOPLE that they work through arguments by taking long walks together.Â

‘Because animals do the same thing, you know? Humans do it to each other, animals do it to each other.’Â
