Hugh Jackman looked triumphant on Monday as he hit the red carpet for the premiere of his latest superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine.
The new film finds him returning to play the iconic X-Men character — after previously indicating he was done playing Wolverine after starring in the dark superhero drama Logan — alongside his good friend Ryan Reynolds.
The third film in the Deadpool series — which is directed by Shawn Levy — finds the super-powered mercenary Deadpool living a quiet life in retirement, which is upended when the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic group that monitors the passage of time, plucks him from his normal life to put him on a mission with Wolverine.
Hugh, 55, cut a sleek profile at the premiere in an all-black look.
He had on a shiny black suit that he paired with a black dress shirt.

He completed the low-key look with shiny black leather shoes, and he sported a clean-shaven face while wearing his hair swept back.
Hugh looked predictably chummy with his pal Ryan Reynolds, who convinced him to don his Wolverine claws again for another Deadpool film.
When Ryan brought out his wife Blake Lively on the red carpet, they posed alongside Hugh and Gigi Hadid.
Blake was dressed in red, mirroring the color of Deadpool’s suit, while Gigi was dressed in yellow to complement Wolverine’s bright yellow suit in the film, which is inspired by the character’s most popular suits in the X-Men comics and animated series.
The leading men also posed with Emma Corrin, who plays Cassandra Nova, the twin sister of the X-Men leader Charles Xavier and the film’s primary villain.
Hugh also had a sweet moment with his former Logan costar Dafne Keen, 19, who is featured in the film.
She starred alongside him as a young mutant with similar powers to his own in Logan when she was only 11 years old.

Although Jackman often took on a prominent role in the ensemble films, he also starred in multiple spin-off films, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), the confusingly titled The Wolverine (2013) and the critically acclaimed Logan, in which he played an older, alternate version of the character.
In September, Jackman split from his longtime wife Deborra-Lee Furness. The couple had been married since 1996.
