Lorraine’s long-time editor Victoria Kennedy has announced she’s leaving the role amid the ITV bloodbath.

Victoria, who has been at the helm of the programme for over eight years, announced on LinkedIn on Friday that her tenure as Editor is coming to an end.

It comes after as ITV prepares to axe more than 220 jobs after announcing dramatic budget cuts to their daytime schedule.

Both Loose Women and Lorraine will air only 30 weeks per year from January, as opposed to their current year-round schedules. Lorraine’s run time was also slashed from an hour to 30 minutes.

Victoria announced she was leaving the role of Editor at the end of this month as she reflected on Lorraine’s ratings.

She wrote: ‘September is always an important month for us on Lorraine – the launch of a new season as we go into my favourite time of the year to make this show.

‘This year is bittersweet as it will be my last one as Editor. So I’m delighted to see that our September new season BARB ratings are the highest they’ve been in three years — and with 37 million video views across social last month, we’re starting the season on a high.

‘We’ve got lots of exciting content planned for the next few months that I can’t wait for viewers to enjoy – including having our brilliant Ross King MBE back in the UK as he takes on the Strictly Come Dancing challenge!

‘But this is a little gratitude post to my incredible team who get up at 3am each morning and pretend they are never tired, who greet every guest with a smile, change running orders at a moment’s notice as news breaks, send me ideas at the weekends and, most importantly, care deeply about what our audience want to see at 9am live every single weekday.

‘Making live daytime telly is relentless and exhausting but it is also a magical privilege to be in people’s living rooms as they start their day.’

Earlier this month it was revealed that ITV’s big-hitting daytime shows will soon be moving to a new shared studio space.

Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will relocate in January to the basement studio of London’s The H Club Studio, a former private members’ club in Covent Garden.

Almost 900 hours of live daily programming a year will be produced at the new studio, which features a 360-degree set with LED walls to project the backgrounds for the different shows.

Instead of separate spaces, the three series, which air back-to-back on weekdays on ITV, will use one gallery, with a quick turn around plan of the space between shows.

The space, which is across two floors, will also be open to other ITV shows outside of the daytime schedule.

Managing Director at ITV Studios Daytime Emma Gormley said: ‘As we work towards more cutting edge and efficient ways to produce Daytime shows in 2026.

‘This move to The H Club studio offers state of the art technology that we can use across our programmes to create shows that are distinctive – with a look and feel that are familiar to and loved by our viewers.

‘In a time of transformation for the entire industry, I want to thank all our Daytime teams for their dedication and skill in producing high-quality, compelling live shows every day throughout this period.’

The move was announced as part of a wider shake-up to the ITV schedule, which will see Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women produced by one team.
