Jennifer Lopez looks chic in baggy slacks as she shrugs off being branded 'rude' at the Golden Globes
By BRIAN MARKS, US ASSISTANT SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR and REBECCA LAWRENCE, DEPUTY SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR (DIGITAL FEATURES) Jennifer Lopez continued a winning streak of stylish ensembles when she was spotted out in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 56-year-old actress was seen meeting a friend for lunch at the Bel Air Hotel while wearing a muted gray outfit that matched the overcast skies. She was dining out just days after a video of her on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet went viral as fans branded her 'rude' for a curt exchange with E!'s Glambot director, Cole Walliser. Lopez didn't appear to be troubled by the online outrage as she proved herself to be a master of the casual–cool ensemble by enlivening a plain gray sweatshirt with a striking pair of baggy slacks and a strategic burst of color from her handbag. The Hustlers star tucked her unassuming sweatshirt into the high-waisted pleated pants, which gave her an intriguing silhouette due to their voluminous legs. The billowing pants mostly hid her beige platform heels, making it look as if she was gliding as she walked. She enlivened her muted gray sweatshirt by tucking it into a pair of high-waisted gray slacks with ultra-baggy legs Lopez spiced up her otherwise monochrome look with a small Hermès Birkin bag made of exotic orange alligator leather. She complemented the bag with her brown-tinted aviator sunglasses, and she framed her elegantly made-up face with her long caramel-colored hair, which was parted down the middle. Lopez showed off her pristine look shortly after she struck up outrage with what some fans deemed a 'rude' interaction at the Golden Globe Awards last week. In footage of her encounter with E!'s Glambot director, Cole Walliser, the mother-of-two appeared to ignore Walliser as he set up the 360-degree camera — which produces glamorous slow-motion images of celebrities — for her to pose in. While Walliser later defended the star, fans took it as an example of her behaving like a diva. In the video, Walliser was seen greeting Lopez, but she appeared to respond by only murmuring, 'Hi, nice to see you,' while looking down. On social media, fans called out Lopez for her seemingly cold and curt greeting. '@jlo buy some manners,' one upset viewer wrote. J.Lo spiced up the muted colors with her small Birkin bag, which was made out of vibrant orange crocodile leather. She complemented it with her brown-tinted aviator sunglasses and her caramel-colored locks Lopez showed off her casual–cool look in the wake of a video of her on the Golden Globes red carpet going viral last week after fans lambasted her 'rude' exchange with E!'s Glambot director Cole Walliser; pictured January 11 at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills Viewers were left fuming over a tightly edited video that appeared to show her ignoring Waliser as he prepped her for the Glambot shot But Walliser launched into an unlikely defense of the Grammy-nominee, insisting that 'the internet needs to just calm down' and that he didn't think J.Lo was being rude 'Such a snob. Hard to watch,' added another user, while one person claimed, 'She didn't even look at him.' However, Walliser launched into a surprising defense of the Grammy nominee, insisting that 'the internet needs to just calm down.' The Canadian director assured his fans that he had no problem with the way J.Lo reacted, stating: 'I didn't take it personally. It didn't feel rude in that moment.' He went on: 'I think there's a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she's just down to business. The carpet was closed. She's ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position. 'It's just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me. So I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she's getting ready for the move. 'I knew what she was doing. I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn't feel rude,' he continued. Walliser then made it clear that posing for the Glambot is something a celebrity can freely choose to do or not do. 'Anybody that stops [for the Glambot], I already like you because you're taking the time to do my thing and this is generous of you because you don't have to do it,' he shared. Red carpets are 'generally insane,' he noted, adding, 'It's just a really crazy environment. 'When people land on the Glambot, sometimes they don't know what they're walking up to. And I'm not just talking about J.Lo here, I'm talking about a bunch of celebrities in the past.' He stressed: 'These celebrities, they're at work. They're there to do a thing to promote their show, to be a guest, to be a presenter... they're working.' The comments below have not been moderated. Jessie Buckley lead British and Irish hopes at the Oscars as nominations are announced but there are shock snubs for Paul Mescal and Cynthia Erivo
By JOANNA CRAWLEY, DEPUTY SHOWBIZ EDITOR (NEWS) Jessie Buckley leads hopes for the Brits and Irish at the 2026 Academy Awards as the nominations were announced on Thursday. The Irish actress has earned an Actress in a Leading Role nomination for her role in Hamnet. After bagging a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award this month, Jessie will go into the March 15 ceremony in Los Angeles as a nominee, four years after she earned a nod for The Lost Daughter. Actress in a Leading Role will be a highly competitive field as Jessie goes up against Rose Byrne - If I Had Legs I would Kick You, Kate Hudson - Song Sung Blue, Renate Reinsve - Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone - Bugonia. Jessie said she is 'so proud and honoured' to have been nominated for her portrayal of Agatha Shakespeare. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, she said: 'My baby's screaming in the background, but I am thrilled. 'I'm so proud and honoured to be beside all those extraordinary women and to be there with Hamnet. I'm delighted.' Jessie Buckley leads hopes for the Brits and Irish at the 2026 Academy Awards as the nominations were announced on Thursday Hamnet is nominated for a total of eight awards, including the coveted Best Picture accolade and Best Director for Chloe Zhao, but Paul Mescal was a surprise snub in the Best Supporting Actor category. However, Jessie believes her own recognition 'belongs' to her co-star just as much as it does to herself because of how much she needed him for her own performance. Asked her reaction to his omission, she said: 'Yeah, look, I think he's extraordinary in this film. I know I've met a partner for life in doing this with him. I don't know what to say apart from he is, to me, my absolute. 'His artistry is something that will continue to grow and be a theme in so many different ways. I know what we created together is something that's so special to us, and I hold that so dearly in my heart, and there's no part of Agnes that exists without Paul. 'There's no part of what I created or what we created in this story which exists without Paul and what he poured into this story. So what is recognised belongs to him as much as him being recognised in his own category would.' Jessie's Hamnet co-star Paul was amongst the biggest snubs during Thursday's nominations, failing to receive a nod in the Actor in a Supporting Role field. Irish actor Paul received nods in that category at the Golden Globes and SAGs but the Academy Awards instead features Brit actor Delroy Lindo, for his role in Sinners. Delroy is up against Benicio Del Toro - One Battle After Another, Jacob Elordi - Frankenstein, Sean Penn - One Battle After Another, and Stellan Skarsgard - Sentimental Value. After bagging a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award this month, Jessie will go into the March 15 ceremony as a nominee, four years after she earned a nod for The Lost Daughter (seen at the Critics' Choice Awards) In another notable snub Wicked For Good star Cynthia Erivo missed out on an acting nomination, shocking fans who expected her to be up for it after her nod a year ago for the first Wicked movie. In fact the Wicked sequel, including its other leading lady Ariana Grande, was completely shut out of the 2026 Oscar race a year after its predecessor collected 10 nominations, including Best Picture. British-Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku has also earned a nomination, earning a nod in the Best Supporting Actress field for her role as Hoodoo priestess Annie in Sinners. It is Mosaku's first Academy Award nod, but she also has nominations at the Critics' Choice Awards and Actors Awards. It was a record-breaking morning as Ryan Coogler's Sinners made history as it earned most Academy Awards nominations ever with 16 including biggest prize of the night Best Picture. It had broken the record previously shared by 1950's All About Eve, 1997's Titanic and 2016's La La Land of 14 nominations. The horror flick is one of the ten films up for the honour as the field is rounded out by: Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and Train Dreams. The main battle come March 15 will be Timothee Chalamet vs Leonardo DiCaprio who face off in coveted Best Actor category. Timothee, 30, received a nod for Marty Supreme while Leo, 51, earned it for One Battle After Another as the A-listers will face off against Ethan Hawke - Blue Moon, Michael B. Jordan, and Wagner Moura - The Secret Agent. Jessie's Hamnet co-star Paul Mescal was amongst the biggest snubs during Thursday's nominations, failing to receive a nod in the Actor in a Supporting Role field Brit Delroy Lindo is up against Benicio Del Toro - One Battle After Another, Jacob Elordi - Frankenstein, Sean Penn - One Battle After Another, and Stellan Skarsgard - Sentimental Value British-Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku has also earned a nomination, earning a nod in the Best Supporting Actress field for her role as Hoodoo priestess Annie in Sinners The 98th annual Academy Awards will take place just under two months from now at its home, The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, on March 15. Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman announced the nominees in all 24 categories, including the new casting award, as it could be viewed in a livestream from the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater. There are just over 11,000 members of the Academy with individuals split into 19 branches. Those branches are split between directors, writers, costume designers, hair and make-up teams, publicists, and the biggest one of all: actors. Of those 11,000 members, just under 10,000 end up voting for the Academy Awards as members who don't vote have emeritus status. The Academy has massively increased its membership over the past 14 years as a Los Angeles Times report published in 2012 revealed the Academy had about 5,800 members at that time. Nominees were chosen through a ranked-choice ballot, AKA a preferential ballot, as each voter listed their nominees in order of preference. Then when the ballots are counted, nominees were selected based on the number of votes over a particular threshold as well as the number of overall nominees in that category. In another notable snub Wicked For Good star Cynthia Erivo missed out on an acting nomination. In fact the Wicked sequel, including its other leading lady Ariana Grande, was completely shut out of the 2026 Oscar race Timothee Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio will face off in coveted Best Actor category as the full list of nominations for the 2026 Oscars were announced on Thursday (they are seen at the Golden Globe Awards last week) It was a record-breaking morning as Ryan Coogler's Sinners made history as it earned the most Academy Awards nominations ever with 16, including the biggest prize of the night – Best Picture However, for those contenders that didn't hit the required threshold, the ranked-choice balloting takes effect. At the biggest night in film, 24 categories will be awarded as each category features five nominees, except for Best Picture, which has ten. Best Picture nominations are determined by eligible members from all 19 Academy branches. All rounds of Oscars voting are conducted by secret online ballot, tabulated by the independent accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Oscar viewers will be seeing a familiar face as Conan O'Brien will be returning to host a year after he helped last year's ceremony draw the biggest audience in five years. The 98th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide. Sinners earned most Oscar nominations ever with 16 including Best Picture Timothee Chalamet - Marty Supreme Leonardo DiCaprio - One Battle After Another Wagner Moura - The Secret Agent Timothee Chalamet was recognized for his work in Marty Supreme Rose Byrne - If I Had Legs I’d Kick You Renate Reinsve - Sentimental Value Benicio del Toro - One Battle After Another Sean Penn - One Battle After Another Stellan Skarsgard - Sentimental Value Elle Fanning - Sentimental Value Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas - Sentimental Value Teyana Taylor - One Battle After Another Amy Madigan was put forward in the Best Supporting Actress category for Weapons Paul Thomas Anderson - One Battle After Another Joachim Trier - Sentimental Value Jafar Panahi - It Was Just an Accident Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie - Marty Supreme Eskil Vogt and Joachim Trier - Sentimental Value Ryan Coogler was nominated in the Best Original Screenplay field for Sinners Guillermo Del Toro - Frankenstein Chloe Zhao and Maggie O'Farrell - Hamnet Paul Thomas Anderson - One Battle After Another Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar - Train Dreams Little Amelie or the Character of Rain Best International Feature Film It Was Just an Accident (France) The Voice of Hind Rajab (Tunisia) Brazilian film The Secret Agent starring Wagner Moura is nominated for Best International Feature Film Jennifer Venditti - Marty Supreme Cassandra Kulukundis - One Battle After Another Gabriel Domingues - The Secret Agent Michael Bauman - One Battle After Another Autumn Durald Arkapaw - Sinners One Battle After Another is up for Best Cinematography Dear Me - Diane Warren: Relentless Sweet Dreams of Joy - Viva Verdi! Emilia Clarke, 39, reveals heartbreaking fears over motherhood as she worries a baby could inherit her life-threatening condition
By CHARLOTTE DEAN, ASSOCIATE SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR Emilia Clarke has shared her heartbreaking concerns that any future children she has could inherit her life-threatening heart condition. The actress, 39, has nearly died twice from the potentially fatal condition which caused two brain haemorrhages, the first of which happened age 24. The Games Of Thrones star, who shot to global stardom playing Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO fantasy series, laid bare the reality of living with the condition. Speaking on the Dear Chelsea podcast this week, she opened up on the impact it could have on any of her future children. Emilia said: 'I was born with a weakness in my arteries that's hereditary. 'If I were to have a baby, I'd be like, "Get that baby in an MRI machine immediately so I can see if it has it."' Emilia Clarke has shared her heartbreaking concerns that any future children she has could inherit her life-threatening heart condition The actress, 39, has nearly died twice from the potentially fatal condition which caused two brain haemorrhages, the first of which happened age 24 The Me Before You star said there is nothing that can be done to prevent the condition, but she follows certain lifestyle guidelines: 'Don't take drugs, don't do stuff that's going to raise your blood pressure, don't work too hard.' She added: 'But essentially... there's nothing [to prevent it].' Emilia was struck with her first brain aneurysm in 2011, shortly after wrapping the first series of Game Of Thrones. 'I was in the gym. It was obviously a massive shock,' she recalled. 'I was in hospital for three weeks. And they couldn't tell HBO for two weeks until they knew I wasn't going to die.' She added: 'I got to the hospital, and in my lucid moments, I was trying to pull out the wires to be like, "I've got to get to work! What are you doing?" 'They saved my life, the incredible NHS. I had like six weeks [in hospital] and then I was on the press tour - my first ever press tour - with morphine. 'It was super, super intense, but having Game Of Thrones was the thing that got me through.' The Games Of Thrones star, who shot to global stardom playing Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO fantasy series, laid bare the reality of living with the condition Following her first brain aneurysm, Emilia suffered aphasia - the inability to understand or produce speech as a result of brain disease or damage - and temporarily lost her ability to recall her own name. Two years later, the London-born actress had a second aneurysm after a surgical procedure went wrong. 'That resulted in a much bigger bleed,' she said. 'I had this big scar - they had to cut my head open. Emilia added she is now monitored regularly by medical professionals to ensure she remains healthy. 'I'm in a very good spot,' she said. 'I get my brain scanned every year. I'm in the, like, 0.001 per cent of people who survive what I've had without any real repercussions.' The actress also highlighted the concerning work culture that existed before the pandemic, revealing that Covid lockdowns were 'the first time I'd ever, ever, ever had anyone on any set be like, "You're not well? Do you need to come in? You don't have to work today."' She also disclosed a shocking pattern of working through serious injuries, listing: 'Brain haemorrhages, broken ribs, broken hips. 'I did a whole job without realising I'd broken my hip. The show must go on.' Emilia broke a rib while filming sex scenes for the racy new spy thriller, Ponies. She fractured her hip in 2015 while dancing with her Terminator Genisys co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger. 'I fractured my hip like an idiot,' she said at the time. 'Arnold was trying to show me a dance move and I took it to a whole other special-effects level so that's the result.' The comments below have not been moderated. Campaign sends Victoria Beckham to No1 in charts for first time ever as Britain sides with her after Brooklyn feud
By JOANNA CRAWLEY, DEPUTY SHOWBIZ EDITOR (NEWS) Victoria Beckham has bagged her first ever solo number one after a huge social media campaign pushed her to the top of the chart. Days after her eldest son Brooklyn posted his scathing six-page statement in which he claimed his mother danced 'inappropriately' at his 2022 wedding, an extraordinary social media campaign has given one of her solo songs a huge chart boost. Victoria's 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl, a track which showcased Posh Spice's raunchy dance moves, has shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the UK and Ireland. The chart positions have been driven by a social media campaign which is determined to 'fix the national tragedy' that 'Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.' 'Nothing says "British Culture" like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her son roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces,' reads a viral post on Instagram which has been shared by the likes of Katherine Ryan and Luisa Zissman. Victoria's youngest son Cruz also helped with the promo effort, using his mum's song to soundtrack one of his Instagram Stories on Thursday. Victoria Beckham has bagged her first ever solo number one after a huge social media campaign pushed her to the top of the chart Days after her eldest son posted his scathing six-page statement announcing he would not be reconciling with his parents, Victoria has got the last laugh (Victoria pictured in 2001) The Instagram account Our_dream_house writes: 'I've seen more VB music promo in the last 24 hours than in the last 20 years and I am obsessed. Let's get her that #1 for the plot twist of the year. 'Download "Not Such An Innocent Girl". We are unhinged. Stream Posh. It's a national emergency.' After Posh reached number one the Insta delightedly declared: 'WE ACTUALLY DID IT. Posh Spice finally has her solo #1 and the universe is finally in balance. Proof that you should never underestimate the British public when we decide to commit to a bit.' 'From a roast to the top of the charts VICTORIA WE LOVE YOU. History has been made. National tragedy: OVER.' Victoria fans will have until 6pm Friday to wait and see if the track charts in the top 100 on the Official Singles Chart. It comes after 65 per cent of Daily Mail readers said they would back ‘Team Beckham’ over ‘Team Brooklyn’ in Tuesday’s Poll of the Day which attracted 26,000 votes. The mum of four is said to have been left 'devastated' after taking the brunt in the vicious family fallout with son Brooklyn and Nicola. Despite proudly declaring he was a once a 'mama's boy', Brooklyn focused mainly on Lady Beckham in his lengthy statement, with his vitriolic comments leaving her 'on the floor in pieces'. Amongst Brooklyn's long list of claims was the accusation that his mum 'hijacked' his first dance at his 2022 wedding and 'danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone'. Victoria's 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl has shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the UK and Ireland The chart positions have been helped by a social media campaign which is determined to 'fix the national tragedy' that 'Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.' Days after her eldest son posted his scathing statement, Victoria could get the last laugh (Nicola, Victoria and Brooklyn pictured in February 2024) On Wednesday Brooklyn's wedding DJ Fat Tony waded into the claims, sharing a video of Lucy Punch's character Amanda in BBC sitcom Motherland dancing wildly to the Lil' Kleine and Ronnie Flex track Drank & Drugs in front of her school mum friends. The clip was captioned 'POV: Victoria Beckham during Brooklyn's first dance' and Fat Tony added the words: 'Actual video footage it’s true I was there !' Tony's partner Stavros Agapiou has also backed up Brooklyn's 'inappropriate' dancing comment. 'I was there and she did, he's telling the truth,' he said in an Instagram comment, which has since been deleted - with Stavros instead posting: 'Good on him for finally speaking out!' Brooklyn claimed that he had 'never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,' after Victoria's dancing. He announced on Monday that he has cut all ties with his parents and does 'not want to reconcile with my family', adding, 'I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life.' Brooklyn and Nicola have been at the heart of the acrimonious divide that has resulted in them snubbing all significant family celebrations over recent months, including his father Sir David's milestone 50th birthday and knighthood. Victoria was the last of the Spice Girls to go solo but despite huge promo blitzes in the early noughties she failed to match the solo success of her bandmates Taking to his Instagram stories, Cruz Beckham shared a picture of a drink while subtly adding Not Such An Innocent Girl over the top as the song soared the charts After Posh reached number one the Insta delightedly declared: 'WE ACTUALLY DID IT. Posh Spice finally has her solo #1 and the universe is finally in balance' So let me clear what's going on Baby, I'm not who you think I am I need to feel some lips on mine So I'm pulling you across the line Would it shatter your illusions if this angel had a past? I'm not such an innocent girl (no, no) Don't wrap me up in cotton wool (oh, come on) I'm dying just to show you (just to show you) I'm not as shy as you think I am (I've not been shy) Oh baby, It's time to take off those kid gloves Don't be scared you'll break my heart Victoria was the last of the Spice Girls to go solo but despite huge promo blitzes in the early noughties she failed to match the solo success of her bandmates. Not Such An Innocent Girl served as her official debut solo single but despite an unprecedented media campaign, she was beaten to the top spot by Kylie Minogue's monster hit Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Months earlier Victoria's team-up with producer duo True Steppers and former boyband alumni Dane Bowers also lost out in a massive chart clash. That track in fact scored the biggest first week sales for a solo Spice Girl single with over 180,584 copies sold in just a few days but lost the top spot to Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love), following a much-publicised chart battle. Victoria, who soon pivoted to fashion design after her music flopped, has previously revealed producers used to turned off her microphone while she was on stage with the Spice Girls. Victoria has yet to comment on Brooklyn's statement, instead choosing to post a happy birthday message to her Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton and plug youngest son Cruz's own blossoming music career. Cruz sold out his upcoming live show on March 27 at The Courtyard Theatre just hours after tickets went on sale. Following the news, he told his fans on social media: 'UK... Absolutely no words, thank you a million. Looks like I'll have to be adding more shows?!?' Notably, Cruz added the Spice Girls track Who Do You Think You Are? to his story. His proud mum Victoria shared his sell out announcement as she simply said 'wow'. Whilst Victoria has not been spotted since Brooklyn's statement, Sir David was heckled yesterday as he faced the media at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. When asked about the feud, he declined to answer any direct questions but he later spoke, somewhat ironically, on the perils and virtues of children using social media. In an interview on CNBC's Squawk Box, he said that he has tried to 'educate' his own children about the dangers of social media apps while also showing them how they can work for 'good'. Not Such An Innocent Girl served as her official debut solo single but despite an unprecedented media campaign, she was beaten to the top spot by Kylie Minogue Fans reacted in delight at the news that Victoria had bagged her first ever solo number one 'I've always spoken about social media and the power of social media for the good and for the bad,' he said on stage. The former Manchester United star said he'd been able to use his 'platform' and his position as a Unicef ambassador to 'make people aware of what's going on around the world for children'. He added: 'I've tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. 'They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn.' Meanwhile fans have begged Victoria for a Spice Girls reunion tour announcement to distract from Brooklyn's astonishing attack. Flooding social media with comments, they speculated how Posh Spice reuniting with her former bandmates would be the perfect way to distract from the noise of her nuclear fallout with Brooklyn. Victoria, who soon pivoted to fashion design after her music flopped, has previously revealed producers used to turned off her microphone while she was on stage with the Spice Girls One posted on X, formerly Twitter: 'I think it’s time to reunite with the Spice Girls. That might be the only way Victoria Beckham can come out of this.' More fans of the 90s girl group also shared the same sentiment: 'Oh Victoria Beckham is definitely going to need to set up THE SPICE GIRLS reunion and go on tour to rehabilitate her image now. Watch her bring back Posh Spice & the girls'; 'Perfect time for queen Victoria to put that pr to good use and do the spice girls reunion tour'; 'Victoria Beckhams PR team can only do one thing to make people stop talking about this Brooklyn mess. And that’s announce a Wembley run of Spice Girls shows with all five girls. Sharpish'; 'Theres only one way the Beckham brand can bury these Brooklyn revelations. They are in need of some great PR. It’s time for Victoria to announce that she’s agreeing to a Spice Girls reunion in time for the 30th anniversary'; 'We need that Spice Girls announcement.. right about now'; 'Brooklyn Beckham might have just gotten us the full Spice Girls reunion'. The Spice Girls last performed together during the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, and without fashion designer Victoria in 2019 because she wanted to focus on her family and her business. Nicola Peltz's ex-boyfriend's sister Alana Hadid has weighed in on the explosive argument engulfing her husband Brooklyn Beckham and his family (Alana pictured in 2022) Elsewhere on Thursday Nicola's ex-boyfriend's sister Alana Hadid weighed in on the explosive argument. Alana, 40, is sister to models Gigi and Bella, their eldest sister Marielle and Anwar, 26 - who Nicola dated from 2016 to 2018, just one year before she met Brooklyn - and has insisted that the actress has 'wanted to be famous for years'. Despite Brooklyn's statement calling for privacy, Alana replied to photographer Eli Rezkallah's comment reading: 'Ending an eight paragraph rant about his family's dirty laundry with "all we want is privacy" is all I need to know'. Alana, whose entire family are said to have had issues with Nicola both during and after the romance, echoed comments made by many, replying to Eli: 'Right and that girl doesn't want privacy she's been trying to be famous for a decade'. Alana's comment about Nicola comes after Nicola 'caused tensions' in the Hadid household after Anwar stopped talking to his family while he was dating the star. The couple dated when she was 22 and he was 17, and while there were no official reports, there were rumours at the time that Anwar grew distant from his family. A tweet claimed: 'Brooklyn Beckham's wife previously dated Anwar Hadid, and he also stopped talking to his parents. Yolanda [Anwar's mum] said, "Not on my watch."' Nicola dated Anwar (pictured left in 2017) from 2016 to 2018, just one year before she met Brooklyn, who she went on to marry in 2022 (pictured right in 2025) Alana echoed comments made by many, replying to Eli, writing: 'Right and that girl doesn't want privacy she's been trying to be famous for a decade' Nicola is said to have caused ructions among the Hadids during her relationship with Anwar (the couple pictured in 2017) Much like with comments about Victoria, in 2017 Nicola played happy families, saying: 'He comes from an amazing family. Gigi and Bella are so, so sweet. I just love his family so much. They're feminine, strong girls. To have that around is amazing.' Yolanda is also said to have reached out to David and Victoria amid the feud, causing fans to raise eyebrows and come up with their own theories after she suffered her own 'strained' relationship with Nicola during her romance with Anwar. By LAURA FOX, ASSOCIATE SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR Jameela Jamil branded Blake Lively a 'suicide bomber' and a 'villain' in explosive messages as the actress became embroiled in a legal battle with Justin Baldoni. The outspoken activist's comments featured in a huge collection of unsealed court documents where many private communications involving Justin, Blake and their respective teams are being used as evidence, after the Gossip Girl star sued the It Ends With Us director for sexual harassment. Blake sued Justin, who directed and starred in her film It Ends With Us, in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation after a string of claims the actor engaged in inappropriate behaviour on set. Their trial is set for May 2026. Baldoni has denied all of Blake's claims against him, and Justin's counter-lawsuit against Lively was dismissed. Among the 181 pages of court documents are messages between Jameela and Justin's publicist Jennifer Abel in August 2024, at a time when Justin first started facing accusations of 'difficult' behaviour on the It Ends With Us set. The messages also saw both Jameela and Jennifer poke fun at the backlash Blake faced for her 'tone-deaf' promotion of the film, after fans complained she made light of the film's serious message about domestic violence. Jameela Jamil branded Blake Lively a 'suicide bomber' and a 'villain' in explosive messages as the actress became embroiled in a legal battle with Justin Baldoni The outspoken activist's comments featured in a huge collection of unsealed court documents, after the Gossip Girl star sued the It Ends With Us director for sexual harassment Among the eight pages of messages between Jameela and Jennifer was an exchange showing the pair reacting to a TikTok video involving Blake. Jennifer said: 'I want to officially incorporate nightmare c**t and demon c**t into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE; She's doing this to herself.' Jameela responded: 'She's a suicide bomber at this point.' The pair continued their conversation by discussing allegations of Justin's on-set behaviour, as at the time sources had told the Daily Mail the actor was 'chauvinistic' and 'borderline abusive'. Jameela noted: 'At least borderline abusive is out there so she can't go in with predator.' Hours later, Jameela noted that Blake had shared a link to a domestic violence hotline, as well as statistics relating to abuse in the United States. At the time Blake was blasted for her 'tone-deaf' and 'shallow' promotion of It Ends With Us, as she brushed off the film's serious theme to focus largely on the film's flowery, romantic elements as well as her own creative involvement. Jameela wrote: 'Did you see Blake post that survivors link?; Dead.' The documents include messages between Jameela and Justin's publicist Jennifer Abel in August 2024, where they also poke fun at Blake's tone-deaf promotion of It Ends With Us Blake sued Justin in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation after a string of claims the actor engaged in inappropriate behaviour on set After Blake attempted to mend relations by sharing a domestic violence phone line, messages show Jameela branding the move 'cold' and 'a villain act' Jennifer replied: 'Oh yes, it's so sick.' Jameela added: 'So cold; Just some stats and a link.' Jennifer then jokingly responded 'I'm thinking about having Justin share it,' along with a wink emoji. Jameela replied: 'Ahahaha no keep him away from her; keep him silence; Keep him in Sweden. 'I hate her so much,' Jennifer replied, before Jameela added: 'So much; I've never seen such a bizarre villain act before; She's OVER over.' The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Jameela Jamil, Jennifer Abel and Blake Lively for comment. In December of 2024, Lively named Baldoni in a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and intentional infliction of emotional stress. In her lawsuit, the actress accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her in multiple ways - including body-shaming her - and orchestrating a smear campaign against her to damage her reputation. In her lawsuit, Lively named a number of Baldoni's collaborators, including his company Wayfarer Studios, the studio's CEO and financial backer, and PR personnel. Baldoni had initially asked for $250million in damages from the New York Times, mentioning a report it published on the topic that he claimed was defamatory, then added it to the $400million lawsuit he filed this past January. In the suit, Baldoni named Lively, her spouse Ryan Reynolds and her publicist Leslie Sloane, citing the aforementioned report in legal documents. It was thrown out of court this past June. All parties have denied all of the allegations against them. The newly unsealed documents also confirmed that Blake had openly discussed the negative 'shift' in her friendship with singer Taylor Swift that was brought on by Lively's sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni. The pair were previously reported to have grown apart, and text messages that appeared in court papers showed the two longtime pals trying to restore their friendship after Swift complained that Lively's communications with her had started to resemble a 'mass corporate email'. The newly released court documents also contain messages Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds allegedly sent Affleck's best friend Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso, lambasting Baldoni for his 'enormous ego,' via Us Weekly. In the email Lively is said to have sent Affleck, she wrote: 'I’ve just come out the other side (well almost) of the most upsetting experience I’ve ever had on a movie.' The message continued: 'The making of doc of this film would be more interesting than the movie could ever be. It’s like if Wild Wild Country, Fyre Festival and Going Clear had a baby with The Room…Room also works though.' The judge overseeing the upcoming case has already dismissed Baldoni's $400million defamation lawsuit he filed against Lively Lively claimed she 'ended up rewriting and restructuring the entire script,' then added apparently in reference to Baldoni that she also had 'to direct the movie via the chaotic clown "director"/actor/producer/financier/studio head at the center. Yes, that's all the same person.' She described 'everyone' among Baldoni's hires as being 'in a cult,' while intimating she had undergone 'wild HR issues' on the 'difficult' set. Lively apparently requested that the Argo director offer her his guidance on the film in 'a voice memo' before she was left to 'duke it out' with Baldoni over the edit. In the supposed email, she also solicited feedback from his then-wife Jennifer Lopez as well as his children Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 13, by Jennifer Garner. The documents also feature texts from Blake's It Ends With Us co-star Jenny Slate, dubbing the film's production 'a really gross and disturbing shoot'. Slate - who's also been seen in movies such as Everything Everywhere All at Once, Obvious Child and I Want You Back - was critical of both Baldoni as well as producer Jamey Heath, questioning their professionalism in multiple communications. 'It's like fascinating and also so s*****. Justin and Jamey [Heath] are truly unfit,' she said. It comes after Jameela criticised Serena Williams after the tennis icon recently signed on to promote a GLP-1 weight loss drug. In August she shared a lengthy Instagram post warning about the possible dangers of what she called 'miracle' drugs that some celebrities are pushing without addressing the risks. 'Serena Williams is selling GLP-1s,' Jamil wrote. 'The thing I feel most uncomfortable about here is that celebrities have access to doctors most others don't have access to. These "miracle" weight-loss drugs come at a price.' She went on to list some of the side effects, including 'paralysis of the gastric system, pancreatitis, cancer, hair loss, osteoporosis, severe malnutrition, muscle mass loss, depression (there have been reports of suicide), thyroid issues, blindness and they can really wreak havoc on your metabolism.' She went on to caution that if patients are forced to stop suddenly, many end up regaining the weight quickly, often more than before. She added that the medications can be life-changing for some, but 'absolutely devastating for others,' and called for more transparency around their risks. Jameela has previously come under fire for her social media comments, and previously admitted that she was once a troll herself, without even realising it. She said on David Tennant Does A Podcast: 'I used to be an internet troll, David. I was an internet c**t. I didn't even realise I was, but I was just on the internet just to make fun of people and be mean.' Jameela continued: 'This is at the very beginning of social media and I was s**t shaming and I was a misogynist and I didn't know anything about activism. I didn't know what the word patriarchy was.' 'I didn't know anything because I was just mentally ill and lonely and insane. So I would get online and just be a little b***h.' She went on: 'So I understand the mentality of someone who feels so disempowered in their own life, and they have so much rage pent up and need to go somewhere and they can't for whatever reason express it where they are.' 'So they just think, "Oh, this is all so dehumanised. I'm just going to spur out some s**t online and it's not really going to hurt anyone because it's just words," so I kind of get it so it doesn't really bother me.' Jameela added: 'When I see that I go, you're lonely or you're having a mental health crisis.' 'I had a nervous breakdown and I got therapy and I became a happier person and started living a happier life.' 'Then boom the urge to be a c**t went away but I was one and I own that and I understand it and I'm really glad now, kind of.' The comments below have not been moderated. Of those, just under 10,000 end up voting for the Academy Awards as members who do not vote have emeritus status. The Academy has massively increased its membership over the past 14 years, as a Los Angeles Times report published in 2012 revealed the Academy had about 5,800 members at that time. Nominees were chosen through a ranked-choice ballot, AKA a preferential ballot, as each voter listed their nominees in order of preference. Then, when the ballots are counted, nominees are selected based on the number of votes over a particular threshold as well as the number of overall nominees in that category.
