In place of the vibrant colors, tulle skirts and sparkling sequins that Sophia once gravitated toward, she now favors all-black goth-style clothing.
She has also taken to dying her brunette hair jet black and accenting it with purple or blue.
In 2023, Farrah courted controversy when she posted a video of Sophia getting multiple face piercings to celebrate her 14th birthday.

Farrah added that she objected to parents who look the other way at underage drinking or teen sex — a viewpoint she adopted after becoming a teen mother herself — and she hoped that letting Sophia get piercings was a safer, more supervised form of teenage rebellion.
Farrah became a reality fixture–turned–social media star after she was cast on MTV’s 16 And Pregnant in 2009, which she was actually 17.

Controversy erupted during Farrah’s tenure on the series and on its follow-up, Teen Mom, after she filmed two pornographic videos with the porn star James Deen in 2013.
Then, in 2017, she was fired from Teen Mom due to her work in the adult industry, after other stars of the series had previously complained that she was a bad role model.
Despite that, she was still invited back as a guest in 2022 for the first season of the sequel series Teen Mom: Family Reunion.
