Mel B sizzled in a skintight outfit as she joined Simon Cowell at the America’s Got Talent semi-finals in Pasadena, California on Tuesday.

The Spice Girl, 50, turned heads in a red leather minidress that clung to her toned frame as she walked the red carpet at Hotel Dena.

She teamed it with matching thigh-high boots, with a small stiletto heel, and a pair of fishnet stockings.

As series 20 comes to a close, Simon, 65, opted for his usual look and paired a charcoal, fitted T-shirt with blue jeans.

Mel B’s appearance come as her daughter Phoenix Brown revealed that her mum once told her: ‘I’m the famous one and you’re not’ as she insisted she won’t be a ‘shadow’ of her success in a new interview.

Speaking to The Daily Mail the 26-year-old daughter of Scary spice said she quickly realised she had to find her own path in life as she addressed nepo baby claims.

She had never shied away from the viral term, even releasing Channel 4 documentary, Born in the Limelight – Nepo Babies: Untold, last year – which saw her explore the advantages and challenges that come from being the child of a celebrity.

The star now does DJ work and exhibits her art in London as she makes a career for herself. This week she will also walk in her first London Fashion Week show for cult streetwear and travel accessory label Sprayground.

She said in the candid new interview: ‘I’m discovering who I am, what I like, who I like, where I want to be. It’s a lot of questions, and I just got to figure out the answers, but I’m here for the journey.’

She credits her mother for teaching her to step out of the shadow of fame.

Phoenix revealed: ‘My mum kind of let me know that ‘I’m the famous one and you’re not.’

‘That quickly made me realise that I got to find who I am and not be a shadow. So I’ve just had a journey with that.’

Indeed, Phoenix is well aware that the Spice Girls is the cornerstone of her mother’s fame and is the reason why she is often labelled a ‘nepo baby’.

It’s a subject she tackled head-on in her Channel 4 documentary, Born in the Limelight – Nepo Babies: Untold.

She said of the show: ‘I was so nervous to do it just because it was such a taboo subject.

‘I was like, well, it can go in one or two ways, people can absolutely hate it, mug me off, or they can actually listen and question themselves on it not just being about celebrities, it’s everywhere and it’s all-around life.’

And as for the ‘nepo baby’ tag?

Phoenix says: ‘It is what it is. I’m not going to shy away from the fact, I am a nepo baby, so go ahead, call me that. But my name is Phoenix.’
