Mira Sorvino was one of Hollywood’s hottest brunette bombshells in the 1990s.
She was first seen in Robert Redford’s Quiz Show then she played a sultry Spanish girl in Whit Stillman’s Barcelona in 1994.
Next was played a pinup prostitutes in the Woody Allen movie Mighty Aphrodite in 1995 which gave her an Oscar.
She went on to costar with Lisa Kudrow in the cult classic Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion in 1997.

And she kicked up her heels on Dancing With The Stars in 2023.

Sorvino is starring as Roxie Hart as she makes her Broadway debut in the musical Chicago on Broadway at The Ambassador Theatre in New York City.

When she joined season 32 of the ABC dance competition show Dancing With The Stars she was paired with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko.
The show came two years after the death of her father Paul Sorvino at age 83.
He was best known for playing Lucchese crime family caporegime Paulie Cicero in the 1990 hit crime drama Goodfellas.
She said she had been ‘dreading’ the death of her parents her whole life.
Mira admitted in August 2022 that her grief was still very raw.
‘I miss you Dad! I have been dreading the death of my parents my whole life. Now in part it has come to pass,’ the Barcelona actress tweeted.
She added, ‘I have huge compassion for all who have lost parents. It leaves you unmoored, thrusts you into a position you were unprepared for, without the counsel and love of those you valued most…’

Mira – whose mother is Paul’s ex-wife Lorraine Davis – received support from her famous friends, with Star Wars actor Mark Hamill writing: ‘Dear Mira- Your loss is shared by a world that was enriched by his talent impeccable artistry. His legacy is immeasurable , like you, I will treasure his memory forever.’
And Patricia Arquette wrote: ‘I know it’s a big loss. Your Dad was a wonderful actor too and so proud of you.’
Mira previously paid tribute to her ‘wonderful father’, after his death.
She said: ‘My father the great Paul Sorvino has passed. My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over.

‘He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I’m sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend.’
Paul died from natural causes after battling various health issues in recent years.
His wife Dee Dee, who he married in 2014, said in a statement: ‘Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage.’
As well as Mira, Paul was also father to Amanda and Michael and had five grandchildren.
Sorvino mentioned her dad Paul during her Oscar acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress for her turn in the 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite made the rounds.
The clip was touching as when Mira said on stage that her father Paul taught her everything she knew about acting, he covered his face with his hands and broke down in tears as he sat next to her mother Lorraine Davis.

The speech took place at the 68th Academy Awards in 1996 which was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles.
‘When you give me this award, you honor my father, Paul Sorvino, who has taught me everything I know about acting,’ said Mira who wore her blonde hair up in a bun as she added a stunning diamond necklace.
‘I love you very much, dad,’ she added.
Soon after news of Paul’s death, Mira took to Twitter to express her sadness.
‘My father the great Paul Sorvino has passed. My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I’m sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend.’

When Sorvino learned that Mira had been among the women allegedly sexually harassed and blacklisted by Harvey Weinstein in the midst of the #MeToo reckoning, he told TMZ that if he had known, Weinstein, ‘Would not be walking. He’d be in a wheelchair.’
‘He better hope that he goes to jail. Because if we come across [each other] I think he will be lying on the floor’, Sorvino told the news outlet in 2018.
‘He’s gonna go to jail that son of a b****. And good for him if he goes, because if he not, he has to meet me.’
He then added: ‘And I will kill that motherf*****.’
Mira claimed Weinstein’s attempts to engage with her began in 1995, when she was promoting her role in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite. He began to massage her shoulders while the two were alone in a hotel room at the Toronto Film Festival according to Mira, who said that he then tried to take things further but she was able to ward him off at the time.
A few weeks later he managed to bypass her doorman and make it up to her apartment around midnight, at which point she told him her boyfriend was on the way after calling a male friend to rush over.
Mira believes that this rejection of Weinstein ultimately hurt her career. ‘There may have been other factors, but I definitely felt iced out and that my rejection of Harvey had something to do with it,’ said the actress. Mira later added that her story ‘pales in comparison’ to some of the others.
