Cristin Milioti Drops Emmy After Tumble Outside Star-Studded Party

Cristin Milioti won her first Emmy on Sunday night, but briefly lost the gong after taking a spectacular tumble outside an afterparty.

The actress, 40, won the Emmy for lead limited series actress for her portrayal of Sofia Gigante in HBO’s The Penguin.

Beating Michelle Williams, Rashida Jones, Meghann Fahy and Cate Blanchett, the gong marked the first nomination and the first win for the actress.

And Cristin celebrated hard, hitting Vas J Morgan’s house party.

The TV star made an entrance at the star-studded bash though, tripping up as she arrived at the door and sending her Emmy flying.

Cristin, who had changed out of her red gown and into a black mini dress and a leather jacket, appeared unhurt, laughing as a friend and the doorman helped her up and retrieved her gong.

Cristin was later seen hitting the dance floor inside and posing for snaps with one of the night’s other winners, The Pitt star Noah Wyle.

Earlier in the evening the actress was shocked when her name was called at the Emmys ceremony, held at LA’s Peacock Theatre.

She was escorted to the stage by her Penguin co-star Colin Farrell before making an emotional acceptance speech.

‘Sorry, I wrote this on the back of notes I took in therapy the other day, so don’t look at the back,’ she said as she arrived at the podium.

‘It’s very hard to make sense of being alive right now in this world, so I’m deeply grateful for the bright spots,’ she continued.

‘Making this show with our incredible cast and crew, and getting to inhabit this woman was a bright spot for me. Despite it being very grisly, playing her felt like flying.’

Addressing her family, the star added, ‘Thank you for supporting your strange kid and showing the movies that were very inappropriate for my age.’

Cristin’s Emmy is just the latest in a series of accolades the actress has won for The Penguin, including a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and Critics Choice Award win.
