Meghan Trainor has hinted at her family plans as she revealed she wants to have daughters in the future.

The American pop star, 30, shares two sons Riley, three, and Barry, 10 months, with her actor husband Daryl Sabara and teased that she wants more children.

She told how she wants to have daughters ‘one day’ as she spoke in a wide-ranging chat about the impact of social media on young people.

Meghan revealed her plans to keep her kids from having social media for ‘as long as’ she can and said she would want to keep her daughters off the internet in particular.

‘I hope to have daughters some day and I hope that they never see the internet! Like for as long as I can,’ she told The Daily Telegraph while backing their Let Them Be Kids campaign, which is calling to raise the age limit on social media from 13 to 16.

Meghan went on to back their call for a higher age limit to be imposed on social media as she looked ahead to her own children’s use of the online platforms.

She admitted she can already see her eldest son Riley forming a screen ‘addiction’ as she discussed how ‘rattling’ social media can be on people’s mental health.

‘I think [social media] should be like driving a car, you should have an age limit for sure,’ she continued.

‘I can already see in my three-year-old the addiction to the screens and I can’t imagine if he saw something that upset him… it changes your chemicals forever.’

Meghan, best known for her hits All About That Bass and Mother, boasts 18.2million Instagram followers and 18.5million followers on TikTok.

It comes after Meghan revealed the surprising Australian celebrity who inspired the name of her youngest child, Barry Bruce.

The singer and her husband Daryl, 31, stayed in Australia for several months in 2023 while she filmed her judging role on Australian Idol.

Speaking on The Kyle And Jackie O Show, Meghan confessed that her fellow judge Kyle Sandilands partly served as the inspiration for her son’s name.

‘Barry was in my belly when I was next to you. I told you his name was Bruce but then changed it to Barry Bruce at the last minute,’ she shared.

Kyle then asked Meghan why she had chosen such an ‘old fashioned’ name for her son, instead of going with something more modern and unique.

To which she replied: ‘Remember I told you that you sound like the big shark in Finding Nemo, Bruce? I thought of him, and I told you on our break I was going to make a baby.

‘I named him Bruce, because he is my Australian baby!’

Bruce, the great white shark, was voiced by the late iconic Australian actor Barry Humphries in the 2003 Disney movie.

Meghan chose her son’s name from both the Dame Edna star’s first name and the character he played, while Kyle’s unique voice was what inspired her to do so.

Meghan and her Spy Kids star husband Daryl welcomed their second son Barry Bruce on July 1, 2023, shortly after she returned to the United States.

The couple announced the news in an Instagram post at the time, revealing she had welcomed Barry exactly seven years after her and Daryl’s first date.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, previously welcomed their eldest son Riley on February 8, 2021.
