Abbie Chatfield’s new boyfriend Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde has revealed his cancer diagnosis.
The musician revealed he was recently diagnosed with skin cancer while confirming his new romance with Abbie, 28, on her It’s A Lot podcast.
‘I get a phone call from the Australian Skin Cancer Clinic [while I was in LA] and the receptionist said I have a procedure booked in for tomorrow due to the results,’ he explained.
‘I hadn’t been given the results so I was confused. And I thought it was serious and it was melanoma.’
Adam explained he then spoke to the doctor who told him he has a ‘double cancer in his neck’.
Abbie Chatfield has confirmed she’s dating Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde despite recently saying she won’t be sharing anymore details about her dating life
During the show, Abbie confirmed her beau’s identity before opening up about their first date and ‘crazy sex life’.
‘I was so anxious, I was like ‘I don’t know if I have enough things talk to this person about’. But we had this really good date, and it was actually still the best date of my life,’ she said.
Adam agreed, adding: ‘It was incredible. It was like something out of a fairytale.’
Abbie explained her crush on Adam was developing more and more as they spent time together.
‘Then we had sex for the first time, and it was fine,’ she said before revealing how they spent the next day by the pool.
‘We sat by the pool and drank margaritas… and the sex went crazy,’ she continued.
Abbie said Adam makes her feel ‘safe and calm all the time’ and their relationship is ‘so good and perfect’.
‘Not only are we so in love, but we also have really healthy relationship,’ she added.
Abbie’s admission comes after she recently announced she will no longer be sharing any details about her own romantic conquests in the future.
‘I’m trying to have a break from saying who I’m dating because last time I told everyone it ended a bit tragically,’ she said during an appearance on The Sunday Project in November.
Abbie, who split from Bachelorette star Konrad Bien-Stephen last August after dating non-exclusively for about a year, explained that whoever she dates is always concerned they will end up as ‘content’ on her podcast.
The Masked Singer judge admitted she has a habit of telling her dates they won’t be discussed on her show, before breaking her promise as soon as they break up.
Abbie has previously dated Ash Williams, Konrad Bien-Stephens, Danny Clayton, Nathan Favro, Todd King, Jamie Doran, Ciarran Stott, Tommy Little and Matt Agnew.
