Rachel Stevens has been accused by viewers of miming at her Mighty Hoopla solo set by festival-goers who watched her performance on Sunday.

The S Club singer, 46, thrilled fans at the Brockwell Park festival as she pranced around in a sheer black catsuit and sang some of her hits.

Rachel performed her hit songs Sweet Dreams My LA Ex and Some Girls, however fans were convinced that she wasn’t actually singing the words.

While she gave an amazing performance, fans thought it was too good to be true and accused her of lip-syncing.

They wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Not a WORD was sung live over her prerecorded vocals. She also kept forgetting to lift the mic during certain parts. I love Rachel but if ur gonna mime, at least TRY. Or … just sing. No one is expecting Whitney and we were all p*ssed anyway’;

‘Rachel Stevens isn’t singing a note live and it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen #MightyHoopla’;

‘The irony of Rachel Stevens telling the Hoopla crowd she wants to hear them singing, while she mimes’;

‘Cheek of Rachel Stevens saying ‘I wanna hear you sing’ to the crowd while lip-syncing her entire set #mightyhoopla’;

‘Rachel Stevens miming as much as Charlie Chaplin, it appears’; ‘Looks amazing. Did she mime the whole set?’;

‘Highlights of Hoopla day 2: -Jojo Siwa’s ‘Baby Reindeer’-esque monologue taking up half of her set -The entirety of Rachel Stevens’ (100% mimed) performance, idec if she didn’t belt one note! Incredible. -Rita Ora having technical issues and basically winging it’.

On the day, Rachel joined the likes of Rita Ora, All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis, and Louise Redknapp.

It was the second and final day of the annual festival which is attended by an average of 30,000 people.

Rachel was due to perform at Mightly Hoopla in 2023, but cancelled her set after the death of S Club bandmate Paul Cattermole.

Paul tragically passed away on April 6, 2023 aged 46 – just two months after he and the band announced a reunion tour.

Rachel has recently spoke about how touring with the group has been ‘cathartic’ following Paul’s death.

Paul died suddenly of natural causes, before it was later revealed he’d passed away due to heart issues.

S Club, originally S Club 7, formed in 1998 and its members are completed by lead singer Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, and Paul’s ex Hannah Spearritt.
