Hollywood superstar Margot Robbie has updated fans on the long-awaited Barbie sequel.
The Australian-born actor, 35, who produced and starred in the title role of the $1.4 billion box office blockbuster, says there won’t be a follow-up any time soon.
‘I’ve realised the thing that I get the most satisfaction from in life is things or people reaching their full potential,’ the blonde beauty said in a new interview.
‘Barbie was a movie that reached its full potential. Like, everything I wanted for it happened. There’s nothing more satisfying than that.’
Asked by Stellar Magazine on Sunday whether there are plans for a sequel, Margot was blunt: ‘There’s nothing right now.’
Margot, who welcomed her first child with husband Tom Ackerley in Los Angeles in October, is set to star alongside Irish-born heartthrob Colin Farrell in a new romantic fantasy movie – A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.

‘The script was exquisite and felt very original, magical and romantic, and I wanted to do a love story,’ she said and added cheekily that ‘I would obviously love to do a love story with Colin Farrell.’
In the upcoming film, the pair play characters who meet by chance and are allowed to re-live the major turning points in their lives.
They discover a strange door in the woods that is somehow a portal to their pasts, as they relive their core memories together.
Elsewhere in the chat Margot reflected on what life is like for her as a new mother.
‘I don’t even know how to sum it all up in a neat sound bite. It’s too big,’ she said.
Margot’s return to the limelight and acting comes less than a year after she took time off and gave birth to her son.
Opening up about motherhood, she previously said: ‘It’s like, [when] you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it, and if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear.’
She added: ‘So, it’s kind of like, “It’s the best,” you know?’

The genetically blessed Oscar nominee previously opened up about her approach to diet and fitness, revealing she likes to indulge her sweet tooth most of the time but will eat clean in the lead-up to a movie.
She told Emirates Woman: ‘I’m not good at doing moderation. I get miserable if I don’t eat. I can’t just have a salad every day and a half a glass of wine every second day. I can’t do it.’
Detailing her stricter ‘clean’ diet, she said for breakfast she’ll typically opt for porridge with blackberries or a ‘green machine’ smoothie with kale and apple.
She said that while she enjoys a glass of wine every so often, she bans saturated fats, fast food, sugary drinks and chocolate in the lead-up to an event.
‘I don’t have a very good diet,’ she confessed. ‘I love beer, fries, burgers, but if I have to get into a bikini then I’ll eat carrot sticks for three days. One extreme or the other.’
When it comes to working out, however, the star is more dedicated.
She spoke about her love of fitness in a chat with Women’s Health.
‘[I] really got into Pilates when I moved to LA [in 2013]. Always feel a lot better after a good stretch,’ she explained.
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is released nationally on Thursday.
