Jamie Laing has shared a health update on his ‘debilitating’ tinnitus, revealing his condition will last ‘forever’ due to hearing loss.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 36, who is expecting his first child with wife Sophie Habboo, 30, has long suffered with the condition.
Tinnitus, which impacts around 7.6 million people in the UK, is hearing a ringing or buzzing sound without an external source.
Jamie has previously compared the noise to a constant high-pitched sound, akin to a dog whistle.
Sharing an update, he told The i: ‘My tinnitus is, unfortunately, forever. It started about when I was 27 and it’s a debilitating issue.
‘I basically hear constant ringing in my ears. For some people, it can go away because it can be down to an ear infection or anxiety, but mine is due to hearing loss.

‘When it first starts, you just want to really put your head in front of a train, then you realise that you have to just live with it. Once you accept that’s just part of your makeup, you can get through it.’
Jamie previously described the sound as a ‘high ringing whooshing noise’ that becomes louder the more anxious or tired he feels.
Jamie recently made a surprising confession about his wife Sophie’s house rules as they prepare to welcome their first child.
Since June, the couple have been open about their journey to becoming parents for the first time.
Now, Jamie has shared one strict rule Sophie has implemented as they get their new home ready for the arrival of their baby.
Speaking on his BBC Radio 1 show on Wednesday, he said: ‘I tell you one thing that is actually quite weird, we just moved into a new house, very exciting, and my wife, who is pregnant, has this new rule in the house.
‘I tell you what, I will vent on the radio. I hate it. She is not going to be listening.
‘I really don’t like it and I pretend at home that I like it but I don’t.’
‘I basically hear constant ringing in my ears. For some people, it can go away because it can be down to an ear infection or anxiety, but mine is due to hearing loss’, Jamie said

Revealing what has been grating him, Jamie shared: ‘The rule is this, I have outdoor clothes and indoor clothes.
‘So when I go out the house, I have to wear my outdoor clothes and when I come back in the house, I have to change into my indoor clothes so I don’t make anything messy.
‘One time she caught me like a rat running upstairs in my outside clothes.’
His radio co-star, Katie Thistleton, questioned him about how the logistics would work as he explained: ‘I come in and I get naked.’
Katie tried to reason with Jamie, as she quipped: ‘Let’s blame the hormones.’
However, Jamie admitted he felt he might have gone a step too far with his confession and worried that Sophie would find out.
‘I am scared if she is listening. I just want everyone to know I love, love wearing indoor clothes,’ he joked.
