Nicholas Lyndhurst will pay tribute to late son Archie by relaunching his fashion line, five years after the teenager’s tragic death.
Archie died in his sleep after suffering an intracerebral haemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic lymphoma – an incredibly rare condition which kills around 800 people a year.
A promising young actor whose TV credits included So Awkward and Jack Whitehall comedy Bad Education, the 19-year old had also launched his own streetwear range, Fated To Pretend, in 2017.
Devastated parents Nicholas, 64, and Lucy will now honour their late son’s memory by relaunching the brand as they approach the fifth anniversary of his death on September 30.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Lucy shared a brief promotional video for the brand alongside a poignant message to her son.
Captioning the clip, she wrote: ‘For you Archie from the proudest parents alive. There are still people yet to meet you. We love you. Mama & Old Man.’

Fated To Pretend relaunches on October 4, eight years after Archie devised the brand as a creative outlet for his love of skateboarding.
Speaking in March 2020, six months before his death, he said: ‘Fated To Pretend started when I was 17 years old and it came from me being a skater and being into streetwear.
‘I had originally decided to make my own skateboard company, as I wasn’t really interested in making clothes.’
He added: ‘When I was 18, started going through my life and I thought I could make something creative. I channelled the problems I was having in my life into Fated To Pretend.
‘I created this brand from my own pain and from my own life and that’s why it’s so personal to me, and why I’m so passionate about what I’m doing.
‘Fated To Pretend is always going to be the biggest passion project I’ll ever work on. I’m going to keep working on it until the day I die because I adore it.’
Nicholas, best known for his role as dimwitted Rodney Trotter in Only Fools And Horses, and wife Lucy were left devastated when Archie of a brain haemorrhage.
Marking the first anniversary of his death on social media in September 2021, Lucy wrote: ‘It’s so hard to believe that it’s already been a week since we passed a year without you.

‘Thank you to everyone who came to show their love for our magical boy. Your friendship and kindness is beyond amazing and incredibly appreciated.
‘To have to live without you is the biggest test of endurance we will ever face. We miss you every second of everyday. Life threw us the cruelest card.
‘Who would have thought that the silence in a home could be so deafening. We love you with every fibre of our being Archie. That will never change.
‘And we are beyond grateful and honoured for every moment we had.’
She added: ‘Some people aren’t lucky enough to experience such love, but our days were filled with it from the moment we awoke to the moment we slept.
‘We love you and miss you more than words could ever describe, the vocabulary simply doesn’t exist. Thank you for choosing us.
‘We hold on tight to every treasured memory, we are lucky, the list is endless.
‘You are, and always will be the most extraordinary human being I will ever have the privilege to know.
‘Love you to the moon and back and beyond. Forever.’
