‘Hmmmm. The actual song is good; however it did sound like the volume on Olly’s vocal had been turned down.’
‘For what it’s worth I really liked the Olly Alexander song and staging but his voice was really badly served by the sound mix’; ‘What’s happened to the sound on Olly Alexander’s performance?’
‘Why does Olly Alexander sound so muffled? Vocals don’t seem balanced to backing.’; ‘Have they got the sound mixing off for Olly Alexander? He’s got a much stronger voice than this’.
‘We too thought UK entry Olly Alexander had sound issues, not sounding like radio play, raw, not his fault but output transmission. Other countries sound mass produced & so good as if not live. Did Olly have sound technical problem?’
Others critiqued the singer’s voice as they wrote: ‘Olly Alexander really can’t sing live. Weakest vocals of all entries tonight……by far.’
‘Unpopular opinion, I really don’t rate Olly Alexander this is bad, so bad…’; ‘His voice isn’t as strong on this track. Which is so annoying knowing how great he can sound’.

‘Ouch. Wonder if Olly Alexander has considered a different career that doesn’t involve singing in a key.’; ‘He was off key the whole song and just didn’t fill the stage like the other acts’.

Olly hoped to break the UK’s Eurovision curse and take home the trophy following Sam Ryder’s success.
Squirming and writhing among his backing dancers Olly gave it his all in red leather trousers and a ripped white vest.
A synth-pop upbeat earworm with, oddly, wedding bells in the background. Jumping on the strobe, EDM bandwagon the Years & Years frontman gave an emotional performance and the crowd went wild.
However Olly has not had the easiest of Eurovision performances as he had a dramatic problem during the semi-finals.
The singer spoke out about the moment his Eurovision semi-final performance went awry last week, after sparking concern among fans with his ‘shaky’ vocals.
Olly spoke to Lorraine last week about the ‘wardrobe malfunction’ he suffered, after fans got to hear his song Dizzy performed live in Malmö, Sweden ahead of Saturday’s final.
Unfortunately, things began to go pear-shaped when Olly’s microphone pack slipped from his trousers and began dangling behind him.
The star then had to continue the performance whilst attempting to grab the pack, no doubt contributing to the less-than-perfect vocals some fans complained about.

‘The dancing is a bit naughty and the team is fantastic. It’s like the Olympics of music, it’s a fun, chaotic circus.
He added: ‘This whole thing has been wild, it was amazing last night. It was the first time performing it on live TV.
‘There is so much support from the other contestants, it’s been the experience of a lifetime. I feel so lucky and privileged to be doing it.’
‘My mum watched last night and she is coming out tomorrow and she is so excited.’
