In the 1980s, this singer was known for encouraging her fans to Walk Like An Egyptian as a member of one of the hottest female groups of the decade.
The singer, 65, revealed she was ‘mortified’ that one her group’s biggest hits was nearly never released after her bandmates rejected the song, which she had written.
That song, Eternal Flame, went on to win an ASCAP Pop Award as the Most Performed Song in 1990.
The singer revealed she was naked when she recorded the song, after being convinced by music producer Davitt Sigerson that was how superstar Olivia Newton-John got such amazing performances, in a 2012 interview with Rock Cellar Magazine.
The artist re-recorded and released the hit again this year. Can you guess who she is?

Susanna Hoffs is the artist and she said she was inspired to re-release the song following her performance at a Patti Smith tribute in March.
‘As I stood before the microphone, I fought back tears of gratitude — for the opportunity to sing a song I have loved and cherished my entire adult life. We’ve grown up together!’ the musician said in a statement.
‘I’ve been touched time and again by stories from friends and strangers alike who’ve expressed how much Eternal Flame has meant to them, whether the song played as they walked down the aisle at their wedding, or brought consolation.
‘I still wake up each morning, motivated to sing, to write, to make art, and to find ways to connect. I’m still that same girl with that same emotion — older, and hopefully wiser.’
While she still performs on occasion, Hoffs is known and loved by her fans for aging gracefully and sharing makeup free videos and snaps on social media.
On her most recent video, Hoffs stated she was trying to change up her wardrobe and get away from her ‘uniform,’ consisting of black pants, a sweater and a button down shirt.
Hoffs married director Jay Roach, 68, in 1993 and they are the parents of two children, Sam, 26, and Jackson, 30. Both are actors and have followed their dad into the film business.
She and her bandmates from The Bangles wrote and recorded the song Get the Girl for 1999’s Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. The comedy starring Mike Myers and Heather Graham was directed by Roach.
Hoffs put out a couple of solo albums in the 1990s; When You’re A Boy in 1991 and the self-titled Susanna Hoffs in 1996.

In 2012, she self-released her third album, Someday which received a lot of critical praise.
She waited nearly a decade to put out her fourth, Bright Lights in 2021, which was followed by The Deep End in 2023.
The same year, she published her novel, This Bird Has Flown, which The New York Times called ‘the smart, ferocious rock-chick redemption romance you didn’t know you needed.’
