80s Movie Legend Unrecognizable 38 Years Later After Controversial Surgery

AN EIGHTIES movie legend looked completely unrecognisable 38 years after starring in an iconic chic flick that rocketed her to worldwide fame.

The screen queen, now 65, left her fans doing a double take courtesy of her glam look and brunette hairstyle as she stepped out at a special bash hosted by Kathy Hilton, 66.

The New York-born actress headed to the American socialite’s lavish Beverly Hills home for a party to celebrate film-maker Cindy Eckert.

And Jennifer Grey appeared completely different from her innocent, blonde curly-haired character Baby in 1987 flick Dirty Dancing as she arrived at the winter-themed event.

The movie icon cut a stylish figure in an on-trend chocolate brown blouse paired with a dark skirt and belt.

She added a patterned neck scarf and leather jacket for a stylish edge.

Jennifer, who first found fame in her debut flick Reckless, finished off her look with a pair of brown-rimmed eye wear.

She kept her make-up fresh – showcasing the same natural beauty that was on show in her dane flick with Patrick Swayze more than three decades ago.

Yet her hair is now darker and longer, style in its natural waves.

Last year Jennifer again showed off her unrecognizable look as she dazzled on the red carpet in London.

DANCING QUEEN

In Dirty Dancing, Jennifer played Frances Houseman, nicknamed Baby.

The plotline for the romantic drama saw her character fall in love with dance teacher Johnny Castle, played by Patrick, while on holiday with her family.

The role earned Jennifer a Golden Globe nomination with the movie – and its iconic soundtrack and catchphrases – still loved by film fans years on.

Since then, Jennifer has gone on to clock up a host of movie and Broadway roles – yet sadly believed her looks as Baby would stem her career options.

NEW LOOK

She underwent her first minor nose job in 1989, after getting in a car accident with her then-boyfriend, Matthew Broderick.

The first surgery was botched, which resulted in her getting another one a few years later – leaving her appearance vastly changed.

This led to the star even considering changing her name to start a new life.

In 2012 she said of the surgery: “I went into the operating room a celebrity and came out anonymous.

“It was the nose job from hell. I’ll always be this once-famous actress nobody recognises because of a nose job.”

Back in 2022, Jennifer also told how her pals didn’t know who she was following the surgery.

Away from film and TV, Jennifer won US series Dancing With The Stars in 2010, when she was partnered with professional dancer Derek Hough.

She also stood in for Len Goodman as a guest judge on Strictly Come Dancing.
